Ok, i have been asking to the fate of the missing phoenix lords [warp spiders and shinning spears] on one of my other threads. since there are no rules anywhere that i can find to these two individuals i wish to make them myself, with dakkas' help as well. here we go Lhykosidae, Vanishing Reaper [warp spider phoenix lord] 230pts WS: 7 BS: 7 S:4 T:4 I:7 A:4 Ld:10 Sv:2+ Weargear: Warp jump generator, power blades, dual spinneret rifles [counts as Range:18 S:6 AP:1 Assualt 3, pinning] Special Rules: Independant character; Fleet of Foot; Fearless; Eternal Warriors; Disciples (warp spiders); Withdraw; Surprise Assault; Warp Path Warp Path: Lhykosidae has learnt to stay in the warp for prolonged times and can travel faster along it than any other soul in the galaxy. During the movement phase the eldar player may choose for Lhykosidae to run through the warp, Lhykosidae may move 12"+2D6, on a double, he loses a wound automaticly. Lhykosidae may not shoot the same turn he uses warp path. this ability cant be transfered to a squad of warp spiders, however on a double, Lhykosidae loses and wound plus D3 warp spiders die. What do you think? And can someone think of a name? Im terrible with the shinning spears, can someone please help with that phoenix lord?

Surprise Assault is now worthless because anyone with Jump Packs has it automatically. I suggest that it grants the assault after deep strike ability instead.
Also, for war gear instead of being identical to an exarch, he takes a move and shoot shadow weaver. Phoenix Lords are Exarchs on steroids, and should have something even nastier then what their Exarchs use.

Idea for the SS lord's name: Kor'tail, the Spear of Khaine (pronounced KOR-Tile), as for the WS lord, you need a weird name, like Wxqotlu (pronounce THAT how you will...)

All phoenix lords have both exarch powers of their aspect, hence surprise assault.
The spinneret rifle only sots once for the exarch, so i gave it 3, 3 S:6 AP:1 shots is very good i thought, phoenix lords are ment to be accurate, templates arnt.

The gun is good as is. I would note that it's pinning, normal spinneret rifle is.
Both exarch powers for simplicity, we want that guy to be valid with the next codex,too...
The Name Wxqotlu sounds a bit lizardmeny for me, but I agree, it has to be something a bit more warpy than the other ones. Maybe something with -ith or -is in the end? sounds a bit more warpy than the other names of the lords (FuegAN, KarandrAS, BaharrOTH...) if you know what I mean.
I just await the coming of the plastic warp spiders...

This article mentions that the Warp Spider's Phoenix Lord might be called Lhykosidae. That's my vote.

Ive got an idea tell me what you think:
WS: 7 BS: 7 S:4 T:4 I:7 A:4 Ld:10 Sv:2+ 230pt
Skilled Rider, Withdraw, Forward Front
Forward Front: He and any attachment gain both the Scout special rule and Ambush
The shining light: 6" S8 AP4 Lance, Rending, counts at a S8 Power weapon, and rending in combat.

I believe it would be quots as in quote instead of kot as that Azteccen flying snake god. (dont really want to spell his name) Has the whole qo without no you thing going on and its pronounced quotes.
As for shining spears, Rending I think is a bit much/pointless, how bout a Str 10 on the charge power weapon and a bike that automatically passes the intiative check to break off in Hit and Run?

the rending was more for the anti-vehical assault, The Lance only works when shoot so a vehicular would keep its normal armor. And also its not a power weapon if they are charged, so Rending that that case would help too.

as for shooting it too Rending would help to punch through even more armor as its normally only AP 4, so SMEQ still get their armor sv it.

as to psf3077's comment about giving him and his squad the scout and ambush rule I think that would be sick. However I would lower either its WS or BS to 6

You cant drop it from 7, all phoenix lords have a flat stat rate eg WS7 BS& etc

Stat wise he looks fine (normal phoenix lord to me).
Scouts already gives outflank so Ambush isn't necessary - he's on a jetbike so its not like he will be stuck at the table edge for long (besdies he's not kunnin like Stinkrot )
How about a perma Str 9, laser lance that always acts as a power wepon (fixes both issues) after all if he's so good he should have at least some benifit besides the stats.
Rending - not needed, @ Str 9 can hurt 14 armor, and besides if your using him right you shood but shooting/assulting the vehicles rear armor anyway.
Any unit of shining spears...not just any unit.
Perhaps his jetbike would get a cannon instead of the basic wep?
