Okay, now I am REALLY interested in this, I have read some threads on DakkaDakka and some talking with my friends, a new Necron Codex!

I am just wondering, what have people heard about this? I have heard some stuff, but some of that was like "It will be released end of 2008" obviously never happened...I just want to try to get a nice list of crap that may or may not be added/changed, also when the release date might be (Current codex is 2002!)...

All Necron Monoliths will have the "Pink Fluffy Dice" upgrade. (No model may shoot at them as they roll on the floor laughing!)

I heard that they were putting out the new Necrons over the summer. But we'll see.

I'm a bit interested in it too, wondering if they'll get a new vehicle. I heard WBB is being replaced by FnP. Would make the game go a bit faster, not having to worry about all those special rules and stuff.

Hard to say. Necrons seem to have a good amount of substantial rumors. Removal of C'tan, named SC Lords, new Obelisk vehicle - to name a few. SWs I haven't followed. I think DE have been in the works since '06 or 07' but there's not so much as a whisper of rumors (beyond the speculation sparked by the 5th ed rulebook), about what their changes will include. (though frankly, if all they get is much more extensive fluff and some new models, I'll be happy) Either they're further from finished than they should be, or GW is keeping extraordinarily tight-lipped about them.
Whoever is next after IG is a toss-up between those three... That rhymed...

I've heard that the platinum level lord will have laser eyes and a rocket launcher for a crotch.

Last time I was in the local GW I was told by a redshirt that May is the scheduled release.

Take with a grain of salt, etc.

As for changes, I expect them to do with destroyers what they did with Nobz. Take a destroyer lord and a squad of destroyers opens up as a troops choice.

Considering that May is confirmed as the month of IG.....

I think it'll be a bit of a wait.

Anyone know if they're working on new models? That's the key. The codex could be done, but if there's not models to launch with the release, it won't happen.

C'tan removed for Apoc games. C'tan models can still be used and represnt a Necron Lord who is an underling for that C''tan. Destroyer Lord makes Destroyers troops. Unknown if this applies to Heavy Destroyers. Tomb Spiders becoming more 'potent'. I wouldn't be surprised if Flayed Ones can get moved to troops if a certain HQ is taken.

I think Brimstone hinted that their CC troops would receive some substantial improvements.

Moving to discussions

I heard Pariahs have to roll on a chart for special abilities but only after they're deployed.

Also they can assault after Deepstriking but have to roll the DS ability on their chart.

@Bunker - given that IG are confirmed for May (after Apoc in March), I guess that's why redshirts aren't known as reliable sources of information.
