Title should say it all. Gamers have a style all our own. If your embaressad of this you wear this.
Stealth Gamer: Jeans, tees, jackets, sneakers,. You walk through your school/ work place. Quiet, unassuming. Someone who doesn't rattle the cage. You get home..... and throw on your bolter tee, sweats that you had a space marine printed on and begin to paint your new Ork Gretchin plastic box set.
If you are slightly insecure you wear this
Middle Gamer: You wear too wear jeans. Everything else...... different for each person. But still you don't rattle the cage. Much. Occasionally you wear some things that warrant a few jokes, but only rarely. You go home, and you glue you guardsmen together.
And if your like me (ie you don't give two sh**s on a rat a$$ what people think)
Proud Gamer: Tony Hawk shoes, Shaun White jeans, comic book character tees, Tsoalr tees. And of course, every one's favorite accesory.
FEDORA!!!!!
Yeah. I wore my Fedora today. Coulda been worse, coulda been better.
Post what YOU think a gamer wears. Thanks.

haha what a well timed thread. I bought a 500 hundred quid suit today. However, that is the most expensive item of clothing I have ever bought. But I do like a bit of high fashion, I think the problem is i get paid too much for someone my age. granted I don't dress like the average gamer.
edit: noticed that doesn't really add much to the thread so i'll add this...
I used to be the "you don't give two sh**s on a rat a$$ what people think" kinda guy like you say, until I found out that dressing well helps you get prospective females immensely. So now I just dress with that in mind but with my own eccentricity to boot, much like your fedora (nice choice btw, not too good at rockin' hats myself), got a few pairs of winkle pickers, have been known to carry a financial times in one hand with no intension of reading it. That sorta thing.
As for the average gamer in my area, it's usually either a gothic/emo twist or just the general casual jeans/'sneakers'/t-shirt combo. Btw I absolutely despise 40k/superhero/comic book/ general novelty t-shirts myself, but a lot of that goes on.

I buy all my clothes at either wal-mart or big and tall stores. From seeing the people who come into my FLGS, I can't say that there is a 'gamer' style. I got a t-shirt for christmas that has a fairly snappy and slightly insulting saying on it, but it's 2 sizes too small. The funny thing is that I got it from my nephew, who is bigger than me.

I personally don't think being a gamer really has anything to do with what you wear (unless you really like to rep your love for Warhammer 40k, or some other game, on your T-Shirt).
Generally, all I see gamers at my FLGS wear is simply a T-Shirt, Jeans, and some sneakers.
Personally? On an off day, where I don't feel like putting any extra effort into my wardrobe, I'll just wear some black jeans (I don't own any blue ones), a band T-shirt (I've got plenty of them), and some skate shoes (I have flat feet). Though I am very partial to leather and knee-highs, it's way more work than it's worth if I'm just gonna be sitting on my arse all day.

And then I realized that "sandals" can also be called "thongs".
Still pretty funny though.

can you get GW Tshirts, other than the harry the hammer anniversary one?
Ive often fantasised about having 'wargamers do it on the tabletop' or 'toy soldiers for REAL men' on a shirt under the GW logo.
on another note, it tends to be jeans & a band Tshirt for me, unless Im feeling trendy & Ill go with jeans & a casual shirt.

Post what YOU think a gamer wears. Thanks.
I wear normal clothing because my life dosen't revolve around gaming. Gaming is fun, but it is a hobby that I enjoy.
Of course, this is influenced by the fact I used to be a massive fatty early in high school. I was 370lbs with a whopping 60% body fat, and I only wore nerdy, "sarcastic" shirts, and all I did was game and watch anime. I finally got my ass into gear, and brought by self down to 190 with a 9% body fat. After that came the realization that everything is far better in moderation, and keeping a wide variety of interests is far more entertaining then just doing one thing only. I still have some nerdy shirts (like the ork glyph shirts I silk screened myself one boring day) but hey, not all my friends are into gaming, so there is no reason to push it on others by saying, "I'm here! My Ork List and Level 20 Psion could totally wreck your ! Get used to it!" I feel a lot better about myself now that I have reached a happy medium in my life (not to say anything of being able to enter the navy.)
Also, voicing the opinion of one of the posters above me, I'd rather not have to explain that I play with miniature toy soldiers when I'm meeting some lady on a first date; for some reason, they don't find my five-battlewagon list sexy.
That "gamers do it on the tabletop" shirt sound really awesome, though.

My trousers are usually either jeans, camos or cargo pants and my t-shirts consist of mostly band t shirts, a couple of comic and game ones, and a fair few just plain ol' ones.

Every man should own at least one good suit. You never know when you are going to need to dress up, and there are plenty of occasions that occur in a person's life to warrant owning one (Weddings, funerals, etc..).
