I'm rather disappointed by the ALEPH one.
The others look like soldiers, she looks like a pin-up. Just does not fit the concept. Something like the Myrmidon Officer would have been better.
On the other hand, she would be great as a post-human.

I've noticed this too. Particularly when GW swapped from mostly metal to mostly plastics- on some armies, like Space Marines, one didn't hardly notice. But on many armies, the result was that models no longer looked quite right- they had poses with no weight, and however finely detailed their components were they just didn't fit right together.
The Spec ops guys are great. I like the Yu Jing guy best. I do wonder how they're planning on putting a close combat weapon in the Nomad's hands...

I don't think we'll have to imagine it for long since he comes with one of those in his kit!
He'll probably end up holding it one handed, like this guy (sort of):
Either way, I'd rather CB continue to put out weapon options and not actually worry too much about the various poses - we'll work that our for ourselves!

Nothing weird, it is just the Scarface box but... look at the sectorial logo.
What are those two things on the robot's back? They look like big railgun type scifi rifles but the next question would be why he isn't using them instead of that little gun if they indeed are.

I like the mini and I think it fits a lot with the concept shown on the cover of the book. It's not as different to it than Cordelia to her artwork (and that difference is not because of the aestethics, it's because some odd looking proportions).
They are all pretty much the expected:

My first thought of the Haqqislam spec ops was... bleh.
Then I saw the alternate, fully masked head, and instantly loved it. The half face helmet isn't something I like. I'll definitely be buying four of them to build it with all options.

I mean concept not as in "drawing" but as in "the concept behind those characters is that they are special operation soldiers."
Look at the group photo. It looks like a bunch of soldiers, and some "dancer" that they got somewhere.
It's the pose, as well as the pointlessly exposed midriff.
I'm not objecting to the mini itself. I think it would make a great post-human level 3, much better than the actual post-human level 3.
Ironically, both for the same reason: Chandra does not fit the spec. ops' "soldier" concept, Post-Human Level 3 does not fit the post-humans' "playing at war" concept.
I'm just disappointed: I think all the other fit, with the only miss for the faction I actually play.

A mixed bag. The Haqqislam and Ariadna are very nice, and I guess the Morat is decent too, though I was never a fan of the overall aesthetic of that faction.
The rest? No thanks, I'll pass.

Being someone who normally would agree with you...(and who is very, very vocal whenever Corvus Belli does something like that)
I have to disagree.
The biggest beef I have with Chandra is that she has the "bare midriff" going on. Thankfully though...it will be as simple as painting it the color of her bodysuit.
I have to say, I like all of these SpecOps. Vortex and Chandra are going to be the two I'll nab for myself, and I'm sure my youngest brother will want Treitek for his CA...

Honestly, the only one I don't like is the Yu Jing one, though the others are really nothign special. I don't like the pose of the PanO one, and the Aleph one looks too human, in all honesty.

Am I the only person that thinks that all of these are almost heart-rendingly beautiful little sculpts?
Probable the one I like least is the PanO one, but the Nomad and Ariadna ones in particular look awesome. I think the Aleph 'fits' with the rest of the model range pretty well. Remember these are 'post-human', a phrase that still includes the word 'human', and while they have been boosted massively by technology they are still based on the physical template of human beings. Thing like Kusenagi (spelling) in the Ghost in the Shell manga, who has an almost entirely robotic body yet still resembles a normal human being (or not )

For those of you who play ALEPH, How do they work on the table?
Are they a finess force, or more over the top force?
How is that starter set of the 300 points?
In between getting a second faction. Them or the Aliens.
Then as a side question, how do the mechs in this game fare? Are they worth getting, or do they just become bullet magnets?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

Some news from GenCon already!
- Micro Arts Studio are making drop pods for some missions.
- There is a character with a bike for ALEPH
- Possible Myrmidon character with a HRL
- Merc army for book 4. Scarface and Cordelia's logo is indeed the logo for that army.

Drop Pods would be an awesomely welcome addition.
I wonder it it'll be a SpecOps upgrade or be more widely available.
I also hope it'll be large enough to count as deployable terrain/cover.
I've been hoping for an Aleph Biker for the longest time. I really hope it's as cool as the Aragoto.
HRLs, stat-wise, have been somewhat disappointing in terms of their gameplay stats.
I also wonder how a CC-oriented model with Frenzy would handle a long-range heavy rocket launcher.
"Oh yes! I killed that guy from a half-mile away! Now I must satiate my bloodlust by hitting people with my sword... tactically."

No, I did not ask what HRL stands for, nor did I edit my post once that question was answered. Nope. Did not do any of that.

Weird, from that angle, Chandra actually looks good.
Looking at the previous pictures, I think that the angle over-emphasizes her arm and makes her posture looks more distorted.
