'Nids, easily.

Assuming that all the hive fleets were invading, as they outnumber every human capable of bearing arms in the galaxy. Not to mention they basically breed by eating, and they can eat any organic substance (even their own dead, talk about stop-loss!)
So, even if all the races united against them, they'd still probably win.

Well all the other races would be destroyed in say 100 years of the fight, but i beleive the orks would have tripled in size, and be fighting a gigantic fight with the nids, i can imagine the odd demonic attack, but nothing the orks and nids cant handle, i beleive the final battle would happen about 1k years later, all planets are either destroyed or eaten, the orks are now tougher, bigger, and have alot of looted ships. They would probaly kill each other, so that leaves.....demons and the warp.

The Humans would win, we have countless billions, if not trillions, and if it came down to one last battle, we would have no ploblem, or regrets of killing ourselves along with our enemy, as long as it was His will. The Inquisition would declare everything was tainted and nuke them all. Besides how many countless planets have humans that remain to be found from the original empire. One last thought...The old tech is once again found....Mars lives. Release the hidden titan legions.

Yep.

Orks, says so directly, not that they're likely to unite any time soon.

Tyranids and Necrons are probably next in line, as their full numbers aren't known.

(Ork numbers aren't known either, as they live outside of the Milky Way as well.)

Okay... let's establish some basic tactics that will eventually show you all why I am right.

Let's take scout vehicles first: What do they all have in common? They are small, fast, and aren't that good at fighting compared to the rest of the force

Now let's take some regular scouts okay? They are always small units, who are geared more for recon than actual fighting.

The massive tyranid hive fleets that have almost destroyed everything in their path? ARE SCOUT FORCES

That means that, compared to the rest of the tyranids, they are small, weak, andexpendable.

No one knows how many tyranids there are outside of the galaxy.

No one knows if Leviathan is a scouting force, the tyranid vanguard, or the half the tyranid population.

Saying "but the current hive fleets were only 1% of what the tyranids have available to them" is as unfounded as saying that after Leviathan the tyranids have worn themselves out too much to be a threat anymore.

It's just not known, like the number of necrons that could be awakened.

All we do know, is that the Imperium has held off the tyranids in addition to 20 other threats, and the ork race united would easily destroy the Imperium, the necrons, and everything else in the galaxy that the tyranids haven't been able take.

It's worth remembering that humans are the only race with exterminatus technology...if you put every ork and every nid and every human on a world, according to fluff the humans would be the only ones capable of LEAVING the world and nuking it from orbit...
What?

Necrons. Been around since before your races, will be around after. Keep getting back up no matter how often you kill them, aren't edible and the hive ships avoid the tomb worlds. And if it comes down to it, the c'tan will eat your stars. It's inevitable.

Definitely Tyranorks. This is what the galaxy would have in this situation. The Nids and the Oks would delete everybody else out of pure attrition, then the Nids would slowly incorporate more and more Ork DNA to counter them. Once enough Ork DNA was incorporated they'd breed Just like orks, (through spores after dying) AND Nids (Forced procreation by the Hive Mind.) Sooner or later the Orks just wouldn't be able to compete, with the Nids breeding and adaptaion rates, and it probably wouldn't matter anyways, because Tyranorks iz made fer fightin' an' eatin'!

Hahah...Ogre Kingdoms.

I'd say either Tyranids or Necrons (Both of which aren't on the poll). Tyranids, due to their ability to consume dead material and recycle it into new Tyranids (so even if they get their ass handed to them on one planet, it won't matter, because they can just send in a bigger force to consume all of their dead, and whatever killed them). All of the Orks aren't going to be able to fit on one planet, so even a planet packed shoulder-to-shoulder with Orks could be decimated by rippers, and other planetary bombardment acidic compounds. All they would have to do is go in and mop up until there's nothing left alive, and go to another planet. Eventually, as has been mentioned, the Tyranids would gain the ability to spawn through spores, as well as hivemind genepools. So I guess you could say Tyranorks (Not Tyranogres. That's a different story completely).

Necrons might actually have a chance though, because no one knows what happens to a Necron force when they phase out (even the dead Necrons go with them, and no Necron has ever been captured). Tyranids are not at all interested in them, and though they might eventually consume the galaxy, the Necrons might end up being an unconsumable, completely unkillable force that regenerates it's own dead, able to whittle away at the Tyranids a little bit at a time.

Orkz and Nidz would be the last two races fighting IMO as neither race is hindered by politics, theology, dogma (well orkz may have certian aspects of this ,but they are certianly not hinderd) and neither race exist to do anything other than bust heads/consume.
In fact if I'm not mistaken, somwere in ancient fluff I recall reading somthing to the effect that in the end the galaxy will be ripped appart by an Ork vs Tyranid war.

Yeah, no force in the galaxy could resist them. However, it is estimated that the Tyranids that have been encountered so far within the 40k galaxy are only the tip of the iceberg, and that there are countless trillions more 'nids waiting in the void.

I think I know how to resolve this. Get every person on this site to bring thier entire army or armies to a single location, pool all the Orks together, All the forces of the imperium together, all the eldar together, all the daemons together, ect, and have the most gigantic and metal mega-battle in the history of man.

... because that totally makes sense.

I would say this is a likely situation, however the Necrons have already gone into stasis once. The reason? Not enough life left to sustain the C'Tan's hunger (they feed on emotions). So while the Nid's might leave the Necrons alone, the Necrons WILL take actions to purge the Nids off any planet they may actually invade (not ALL tombworlds are devoid of life, and the Nids will eventually HAVE to invade to consume the raw materials). However once the galaxy is barren enough to cause the Nids to migrate again, the Necron will go back into stasis to await life once more.

A 'win' by definition, yes, but not in the way I think this post was meant.

Gauss Weaponry can't be looted. Again, when a Necron force phases out, everything goes with them. Weapons and all. Part of the reason that the Imperium is so terrified of Necrons is because they've really had no chance to pick apart their makeup or technology.

Again, Tyranids can consume their own dead genetic compounds to create living compounds. So even if a looted tank can decimate some Tyranids, as long as the corpse sticks around, then hey, more Tyranids. Orks have a similar mechanism, with their ability to release Ork spores upon death, but I'd figure that death by acid or something similar would negate this. That, and spores are living compounds. When a Tyranid force strips a planet of genetic material, it strips it completely. So, even if the spores have a chance to spawn into gretchin by the time the Tyranids destroy the Orks, they're still screwed, and simply become more Tyranids.

Lordhat wrote:I would say this is a likely situation, however the Necrons have already gone into stasis once. The reason? Not enough life left to sustain the C'Tan's hunger (they feed on emotions). A slow win, or a win by default, is a win nonetheless. If all of the races were pitted in a gigantic battle, I'm thinking that the Necrons would last indefinetly (Phasing out would at least give Tomb Spiders an opportunity to repair dead Necrons, if they don't automatically come back together after a phase out).

And hey, the C'tan could always suck it up and go back to their meager diet of star energy. The only race that literally has the potential to consume a galaxy. Funny.

Well, once you have enough marines to fill out all the chapters, don't let any more in the building...

Still say necrons. One of the bits of fluff in the codex was when some marines managed to sneak into a tomb to plant bombs, and saw warriors that had been essentially stripped to metallic bits phase in to get repaired. There was no indication how effective the bomb really was, or if the tomb was able to recover from same. Sounds like they can just keep getting repaired.

As for the Nids eating their own dead, there are diminishing returns to worry about, you wan't get the full amount of biomass back, some of it is going to be used as energy to drive the production of new organisms, and to 'fuel' their system while their grown.
