Yes. That's the actual title of this amazing song by Kings Of Leon.
Also listening to Captain Midnight by Tomahawk, and Hate My Life by Theory of a Dead Man.

The last one always hits me hard. Because nice guys like me always lose. . Girls want a bad boy, not a Fedora Man. (my term for modern day gentlemen.)

Just out of interest whats the point of this thread? Are we discussing what songs we think are cool?

Incidently Sex on Fire is an awsome song and Only by the Night was bar far the best new album to come out last year. Mind you I only bought about 3 new albums last year!

The ultimate song about nice guys finishing last, just so beautiful. *sighs wistfully*

My absoloute favourite band in the world ever x2. The Smiths. This is one of their (many, many, many) classics. Ignore the video, it's a crap fan made affair.

And now, the best pop song ever written. FACT. I will physically fight anyone who disagrees.

Well, greeby, be prepared for a fight. Blur were just bleh! As for the Smiffs - if there were more Morrissey fans, there'd be less of them.

[Just not into brit-pop or whiney music in general].

Haven't had a song 'touch' me in that special way since 'Silent Lucidity' by Queensryche.

Sex on fire just sounds so derivative and very much like an old aussie band to my jaded ears (Noiseworks).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

What the devil have Blur (a fantastic band BTW) got to do with anything? Common People is by Pulp, an entirely different prospect.

Agreed on Sex on Fire being dross though.

Hooker with a Penis is a great song.

And for those of you who are wondering, it has absolutely nothing to do with a hooker with a penis.

@greeby: Oh, were they pulp? I can't tell the difference between them and blur, tbh. Like I said, just didn't get into brit-pop.

Hmm. Well lets see....

Blur, probably best known for the sadly over used Song 2, were fronted by Damon Albarn (mockney oik now the lead singer with the Gorillaz)

Pulp, probably best known for Common People, were fronted by JArvis Cocker.

Jarvis is probably best known himself for interrupting Michael Jacksons rather tasteless act at the Brit Awards.

How did you get from 3 awesome bands, to one overrated and 2 craps ones, i'm confused.

I know this is the Internet so this request will fall on deaf ears but can we please stay away from "Your favorite band sucks" type replys?

Musical elitism is annoying enough at the best of times and I don’t know about you but im certainly not going to stop enjoying a song/band because somone on the interwebs doesn’t like it.

Lets just sick to sharing cool music and if you don’t like then don’t comment.

Anyway here are a few of my favorites at this time (It changes from week to week!)

A rather new Neo Prog band, but dont let that put you off, they really do rock!

This song came up on Random on my I-Pod the other day, I hadnt listened to it in ages and I've been listening to it loads ever since. Top bit of metal!

Heres a song from an album I found last month in an old CD sleve. I bought it about 7 years ago and hadnt listened to it in about 5 years. I think the band only did one album before vanashing. Anyway I poped it in and gave it a listen. Fantastic stuff!

This is a rather insane little number, found it via a link on Youtube a few weeks back. Anyway I now can't stop listening to ut. Utterly bonkers and utterly brilliant at the same time!

and as far as i'm concerned the greatest pop song ever!

*EDIT* Oh and heres a fantastic song from the early-mid 90's. Never a huge fan of this band but this song is just beautiful, the chorus is just pop genuis and makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

A great song, and probably the best song from the Brit Pop era of the mid-90s. In fact, probably the song that single handedly turned it from being a period of time where a bunch of good artists released their best stuff, and into a defined, recognisable era with themes and meaning and stuff.

I'm just not sure it's a great pop song, because they have different standards to other types of music. Common People has no clear hook, the first chorus takes a while to turn up, it's too long and you have to pay a bit of attention to get the best out the song. Best pop song of all time probably goes to The Smith's Charming Man, or Blur's Coffee and TV, or maybe something like the Go-Betweens 'Streets of Your Town'.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.
