One of the stations I listen to the most is 107 the Bone, becauseit's the one I can count on to always play music, not to talk or play a bunch of damn commercials. Plus I love listening ot Gina Crash and Scotty Brilliant make jokes. Always fun. Please, post stations you listen to and why.

Locally, 93.1, only matters if you are in Indiana though. Its all Indy talk radio except from 12-3 its Rush and around 8 it has Clark Howard who I think is nationwide now. I actually saw him on tv the other day.
Oh and at midnight it is Coast to Coast.

It’s a mix of Radio 2 and 1 for me. I'm not a massive fan of Chris Moyles but on the whole most of their DJ's are fine and I do like Zane Low mainly as he's not afraid to play some upcoming/non mainstream stuff he gives me faith that there is still some interesting music out there. Scott Mills is always a good listen as well. Even during the day Radio 1 plays a better variety and class of tune than any commercial station I've ever heard.
Radio 2 is a about 50% good and 50% dross. unfortunately many of the DJ are dull old farts playing dull old fart music, sorry but Wogan annoys the hell out of me and I think Sarah Kennedy (thankfully squeezed into a slot were no buggers listening) should have her mouth sewed up and newer be allowed near a microphone again. There aren't words to describe how much I hate Steve Wright! But I do like Wossy, Chris Evans even Jeremy vine isn't bad. The trouble is it sometimes feels a bit middle aged and middle class, a bit like shopping at M&S and reading the Daily Mail.
I do like Radio 4 as well for news and comedy. I remember my parents listening to "I'm sorry I haven't a clue" on Saturday lunchtimes and it remains (IMHO) the best panel show ever conceived. If you can download some episodes I do recommend it!
In the uk most local/commercial radio stations are dreadful clones of each other with the same sodding playlists consisting of the top 40 (which only ever have about 1 or 2 half decent songs at any given time) and a handful of staples which normally consist of 70's and 80's pop. Seriously at the office were I used to work the local radio station was played constantly and funky town was played every day without fail between 3-3.30.

Radio 1 became a bad joke with the death of John Peel and the leaving of Mark and Lard if you ask me.
Chris Moyles is an egotistical jumped up Hospital Radio arse.
But you are right about Radio 2. It's not all good, but when it is, it's right on the money.

Ah John Peel, now there was a true musical hero.
The thing is that he wasn't afraid to play a variety of utterly bizarre stuff regardless of how hit an miss it was. I doubt anyone could listen to one of his shows and genuinely enjoy everything he played!
But what other DJ would have played the entire of Tubular bells or anything by Captain Beefheart? He was also the first DJ to play the Sex Pistols on Radio 1 and even towards the end of his career he was happily playing stuff like Napalm Death and Morbid Angel on his show. Even if its not your cup of tea how can you not respect that?
That him and Tommy Vance died within a few months of each other was real tragedy.

John Peel was a Legend, no doubt.
These days I tend to listen to '96.5 WKLR Richmond's Only Classic Rock Station' (yes, that's the jingle) when I'm in the car, except in the morning when I'll listen to Elliot in the Mornng on 102.1 It's dumb sophomoric hmour, but it's a cheap laugh in the morning. At home it's either Pandora.com or PodCasts rather than radio (I'm currently feasting on 40KRadio's archives)

KQRC 98.9 The Rock, Kansas City. My favorite DJ is the late afternoon guy, Paul "Neanderpaul" Marshall. They can be heard online anywhere. They regularly get email requests from all over, especially Iraq and Afghanistan. I don't mind the commercials because they're all stuff like motorcycles, home mortgage companies and cheesy 'male enhancement' products, stuff I am not tempted by. If only they didn't play so much emo. (Staind and Papa Roach.) From 11 pm to midnight central US time they make a token attempt to play metal, but most of it is radio friendly stuff like Disturbed and Drowning Pool. I must say, though that it was during this hour, about three years ago that I first heard Dimmu Borgir, Progenies of the Great Apocalypse.

Nah. on XM its in the low 50s like 52. I think 54 is Lithium so thats about right. Unfortunately the B word is being thrown about for Sirius so I am uncertaon of the future, which would be bad. I am betwixt cities six hours a week.
