Ok, Iam not used to having to destroy monoliths. But it has become aware to me that my ork army list isn't the best against this kind of threat.
My1000pt list:
Big mek (KFF)
Warboss (power klaw, bosspole, 'eavy armour, twin-linked shoota)
7 Nobz+Painboy (all 'eavy armour, waaagh!!banner, Grot orderly)
10 boyz (nob, 'eavy armour, big shoota)
Truck (red paint, grot riggers)
11 boyz (nob, 'eavy armour, big shoota)
Truck (red paint, grot riggers)
20 boyz (nob, 'eavy armour, 2 big shootas)
10 grotz (runtherder, grot-prod)

Any advise for this army list and how to take out a monolith

You might need to put this in the Army Lists or 40k Tactics subforum.

Edit: Although in my limited experience, a power klaw toting Nob/Warboss should help. That, and a few salvos of rokkits.

Warboss in melee is the best bet, since he's Strength 10 and gets a bunch of attacks (and the to hit is based on speed moved not being a Skimmer). That's easier said than done.

If he's using a Monolith at 1000 points, that leaves him room for a Lord (100-150), 20 warriors (360?), and not much else (he's got around 250 points left, if I've got stuff right). Go for phase-out (reduce him to less than 25% of 'Necron' models - warriors, immortals, etc.). Putting a few more Power Klaws in the list would help.

Warboss with p.klay on a bike is actually one of the best solutions to the monolith I've seen. Should be able to seriously damage it (if not destroy it) on the round you charge and hopefull it will at least be stunned so you can whack it again in your opponents turn.

if you have a wagon then use that with a plank instead
more chance of getting close enough to plank attack him.
might wanna throw a squig on the boss for the extra attack too.

that would give you 6 attacks from a plank assult at S10.

A few things kill Monoliths.

1. Powerklaws in assault. Nobs are Str.9 and Warboss/Mad Dok/Wazdakka/Ghazghkull are Strength 10.

2. Wazdakka has 4 twin linked Str.8 AP4 shots that can hurt a monolith (glancing anyway)

3. Tankhammers: Strength 10 hits.

Some people might have a problem with it, but Death Rollas can do a number on AV 14 vehicles as well.

I like DeffRollas, but INAT and people e-mailing into GW consistently come back with "Can't use DeffRolla on vehicles."

For this one, you just have to roll off with your opponent before the game starts to decide if its going to be doable or not.

i think the death rolla idea, but i don't have a model for it so i think i go with some nasty power klaws in the assult.

Tom, I can't stress the awesomeness of Ghazghkull Thraka. Seven Strength 10 hits on the charge - monolith goes kerplow.

I agree with the Powerklaws..... on NECRONS. Ignore the breadbox of doom. Easiest way to kill it is to make it go away with the reast of the army.

You are better off not trying to kill it and instead going for phase out.

I will try to make him phase out and stop him shooting by getting him in close combat, but if i get a meatgrinder necrons don't phase out

The meatgrinder mission has not existed for 2 editions.

My belief has been that any close combat threat that can punch a monolith out of the air is better used gutting necron warrior units and forcing phase out.

get a trukk to push his men out the way and then charge bikes through the newly created gap and ram the monolith with lots of power claws.

Something to definitely consider:

Monoliths can't do much to orks that are stuck in CC with necron warriors. Its not hard to stay in CC with warriors by arranging your charges and distances. You might be better off saving those powerklaw attacks for taking down warriors and working on phasing the army out.

The warboss on assault will make a great weapon for the lith

But honestly, focus on his warriors, if you kill 75% of Necrons (no counting things like Monolith) then EVERYthing disappears and you get an auto-victory
