Greetings all! I've been playing 40k for a handful of years and have recently gotten into some simple modding. I'm looking to upgrade my Lord to a Demon Prince but am not a huge fan of the metal GW model. I was planning to get a Possessed Marine pack and use that for the basis of a DP. I've seen several other DP mods and they look great - just a bit big for my tastes. I prefer to have a close combat model that doesn't knock over all the other models on the table when trying to get into CC. I had a few questions for anyone who has the GW DP model:

1. Looking at the CSM codex, it looks like the DP is on a Terminator sized base. Is this the case?

2. I know I'd have to bulk up the base a bit to get the roughly same size model as the standard DP. Again from eyeballing it in the codex, it looks to be about the size of a dreadnaught or roughly 2 times the height of a standard marine. Could someone with the model give me a rough estimate of the height?

Any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

well to give you an example ; my DP of tzeentch is based on the nightbringer model and is about 20 cm in height ( including wings ) , and now i will use belakor as an other DP , so it doesn't really matter what you use as long as it's bigger then a marine / terminator that you know he IS the DP , so use your imagination , i'll post some pics of my tzeench DP if you want

That would be great! Pics always help. I'm not too super worried about making him exactly the same height, but with the new "true" line of sight rules, I'd like to get his center of mass in roughly the same place to prevent me from getting too big of an advantage "hiding" behind terrain that a normal DP wouldn't be able to.

LOS and size doesent really come into it mate, its something that pretty much no one cares about.

being a daemon prince they will vary in shape and size, so let the imagination run wild
but models like be'lakor are just under double marine height.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

With the 5th edition TLOS rules the size of the DP would be of utmost importance. Termie base size is standard and you can go bigger from there, but not smaller. The height of the model will dictate how often it can and will be shot at. Be'lakor is the standard size, IMO, and nothing smaller should be allowed. A unit of Oblits should not be able to completely block LOS to a DP, but you could make a model that does so.

Lol, reminds me of fear demon in an episode of Buffy which turned out to be six inches high. Modelled at 40K scale, it would be very small and not too difficult to find cover...

When I built this guy he came to 7cms tall including his 40mm round (terminator) base.

Hope this helps!
