Subject: Any ways to fix physical injury?

2 weeks ago i took a really bad fall and my left shoulder went out of the socket.
My family managed to came to help me right away and we managed to get it back before
my muscle became too tense for it to be possible.
Its been just sore , i thought it was just muscle that was bruised during the accident.
But the past 3 days its been hurting alot again , what should i do? I almost never go
to hospitals, are they just going to give me pain killers?
There is no way im going to take drugs to mask the pain, what else can i try to fix it?
chiropractor? are they generally nice doctors? because they charge me $60 per visit....
well thanks for any replies , im going to lay in bed now.... though too early to sleep but it just
hurts too much.

If you go to the Hospital, they may take x-rays to see if there's any other complications, but they'll most likely just give you high dosage pain pills.
If you have a sling handy(or something equivalent), use it. Try to use that arm as little as possible and make sure you don't put weight on it(sleeping on it, etc.).
Hope you get well soon, Luna-chan!

You should have immediatly gone to the hospital on that. Injuries like that can cause you big problems in the future if some 'collateral' damage was sustained that you werent aware of.
My suggestion is to go now to a hospital, not a chiropracter, a hospital. If it just started hurting again it means something is wrong and you reagravated the injury or it never healed properly in the first place.
Hurting is NOT normal. Your body is not supposed to HURT. Pain means that something is wrong. Go see a doctor man. Hit the emergency room if you have to.

I'm going to have to agree with Deadshane. You might just have inflammation of the soft tissue in the area, which may not heal properly without medical treatment. About three years ago, I succeeded in destroying both my knees while lifting boxes at work. I decided to tough it out rather then worry about doctors bills. As it turns out, I had damaged the tendons in both my knees and the inflammation of the tissue prevented them from healing properly. Had I gone to a doctor early on I wouldn't now have two bad knees. Always err on the side of caution with these things.

I am a total hypocrite for saying it, but if you can, go to the hospital. I have some back problems that would not bother me nearly as much if I had gotten it looked at right away.

You need:
One of these.
I bought one, and it works great; it recharges your body's natural ions. I saved a whole bunch of money too, because I don't need health insurance anymore.

Go to the hospital.
They can do tests like scans that help diagnose connective tissue damage.
They can give you anti-inflammatory drugs and painkillers and physiotherapy.
If you allow the injury to heal by itself, there is a danger that the imbalance to your musculo-skeletal system will cause problems elsewhere in the long run.

I'm not a fan of painkillers either, but not because of any aversion to taking a drug. The anti-inflammatory effect is most of the point, though - it's not just to 'mask the pain'. I've had a lot of RSI problems, the primary symptom being chronic nerve inflammation. Rest has mostly sorted it over the past twelve months, and I was prescribed a short course of anti-inflammatory medicine as well. If your family has a problem with hospitals, you can also sue your parents for neglect. Is that more up your alley? It's been done before... although they were more state-vs.-parents than child-vs.-parents.

Don't go to hospital.
You don't need examination or imaging.
Stay at home and ask members of a wargaming forum for advice on serious injuries (likely an anterior dislocation).
Use magnets as suggested by Orkeosaurus.
And yes chiropractors are doctors and will offer pain free treatment.
Seriously dude that deserves a double facepalm...

I've dislocated my shoulder twice playing rugby when I was younger, but I had people by who knew how to put it back quickly enough. But I wouldn't worry, you've just damaged the tissue around your shoulder which has made your arm weaker. See a doctor and they'll tell you how to take care of it best.
Also you've actually made me realise how thankfull I am the uk has national health, I put off going to the doctor enough already I can't imagine what I'd be like if i had to pay.

sometimes you need to have an operation to make sure you havent trapped any blood vessels in the socket, if you have it can stem the blood flow to your arm and may lead to the muscles dieing off around your shoulder. you should really go to a hospital just to make sure there haven't been any complictions.
As a foot note though when your shoulder dislocates you more often than not frey the muscle which would account for the delayed pain as the pain wouldn't happen until the muscle was stable enough to heal.

Da Doks can fix it with their Orky Know-wotz. First, they'll pull some teef to stop da hurts. Then, they'll pop your leg back out of place. Then, they'll replace your lungs with Mrk VII Exploding Livers that also function as secondary mouths. Then they'll send you on your way. It works great!
There will be no anasthetics.

My suggestion is to take a few asprin, go to the hosptitol and get it checked out. On your way stop at the pharmacy and pick up some Icy-Hot patches. The asprin will help you deal with the pain for now, while the icy hot works wonders for aching muscles and things. You probally should have gotten it looked at earlier, but better late than never. Also, when you lie down, put some ice packs on it. I'm not a doctor, so I can't diagnose these things, but this should help a little bit until you get it looked at. Don't go to the emergency room, they won't take you for many hours, which is no good.
