Well, since I downloaded the PDF from GW's site,I've been wondering is it still popular, are there still tournaments?Or is it a half rembered memory

Great game, tons of fun sticking as many orks in the back of a truk only to move it and have some fall out and get wounded.

Sadly, I never heard of a gorkamorka tournament. Nor have I ever seen the game be immensely popular. Still a great game though.

The game was a flop when it came out, so no tourneys and not popular. I don't even think that Fanatic (what Specialist Games used to be) ever released a GorkaMorka magazine 'Gubbinz'

Game was a flop (IN THE US) so you won't see any tourneys there.

I know of several clubs here that still play it (I go there to play it). It's a fun, beer and pretzels way to pass the time over a couple of hours. It's just orks and gobbos (and some oomies) zoomin' around and collecting scrap and scrapping on each other. I've got a digga mob (from DiggaNob - the expansion) and one guy has a mutie mob, but the other guys just have orks and gobs.

It uses mostly 2nd ed rules for things (as it dates back to then, rather like necromunda predates 2nd ed - in concept).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

It flopped pretty hard in the UK (where I lived at the time) also.

The sad part is that GorkaMorka would actually be an easier game to play today, what with the abundance of Ork models and Bitz for great conversions (not to mention half-way decent looking vehicles).

Shame.

Well, they're revamping Space Hulk, so maybe they'll give Gorkamorka a second attempt in the near future.

Orks are more popular at the moment... but I'd hate to see what Jervis'd do to the GorkaMorka ruleset. The 2nd Ed 40K rules were never really any good for a game the scale of 40K, but with Necromunda and GorkaMorka they were perfect. Chances are they'd KillTeam-er-ise it, and that'd be a damned shame.

On the bright side, if they re did a boxed set (20 AOBR-style Ork boyz, 2 Trukks - maybe even simplistic Trukks - and maybe two Deff Koptaz) we'd get a plastic Orky Fort, and that'd rule.

I loved Gorkamorka, it was more goofy fun than Necromunda with vehicles and wrecker balls and squig brain transplants. What isn't to like?
