On another cold and dreary night in Ketchikan, Evo and Diesel decided to match forces. 1478 points of Tyranids vs 1461 points of Black Templars.
TURN 1
The game started off in typical fasion with the Tyranids going first and running as fast as they could. The Hive Tyrant and Carnifexes took pot shots at any marines they could but manages to hit only the ground. During the Templars turn they moved into tactical positions and the dreadnought managed to drop a Gaunt from full range with an autocannon. The Emperors Champion decided to use a crater as cover.

TURN 2
The Tyranids continued to run to get as close as possible. Again the Big Ones took potshots and manages to take out 1 Terminator, and 2 Space Marines. The Carnifex on the right side of the board managed to get a crew stunned on the dreadnought, slowing it down for at least 1 turn. The Templars continues to scoot up on the board working out which Nids to fire at. 1 squad fired a krak missle at a carnifex which wizzed harmlessly by its head, while a squad of terminators opened up on a brood of gaunts killing 6.

TURN 3
Tyranids continue to swarm and manage to get with in shooting range for the little ones. After a barrage of shots all the terminators were still standing. The big bugs manage to take out another 3 marines . GENESTEALERS manage to assault a squad of 10 marines and take out 4 due to rending and 1 more from normal wounds the marines managed to get 2 genestealers.
The Templars shot the hell out of 1 brood of gaunts completely wiping them of the map but they would be back due to without numbers. The marines shot at the Fex on the left with their bolters not managing to do anything but score a hit with a missle but the Fex made its +2 armor save. The Hive Tyrant survived a barrage from the Terminator squad and their storm bolters. The Speeder mannaged to land a wound on the Fex on the right side with its heavy bolter. The genestealers and marines went back to it and having the higher initiative the stealers manage to wipe the marines out before they could react. The terminators charge to the hive tyrant was blocked by the gaunts in from of him so they remained stationary.

TURN 4
The Tyranids continue to advance and position themselves to shoot and assault. The big bugs knock down a couple more marines each and the little ones manage to kill 2 terminators due to bad saves....the dice can be so cruel sometimes, but the Gaunts failed to defeat them in close combat leaving the Hive Tyrant exposed. The Fex on the right side manages to blast the Speeder out of the sky while the Genestealers ran up behind the dreadnought and managed to shred him with their rending claws. The fex on the left managed to knock out 1 more marine but got blasted himself by a krak missile, knocking him down to 4 wounds. Another templar squad managed to wipe through a group of gaunts with relative ease with the help of the emperors champion.

TURN 5
2 New broods of gaunts manage to reach the terminator squad and wipe them out with their fleshborers. Another brood manages to knock out the emperors champion due to the dice being vindictive for the templars commander. The Fex on the left managed to wipe out the marine squad but opened itself up for an easy attack by the Command Squad. Not much shooting by the nids due to a dwindiling amount of targets.
The Templars Command squad carged the left side Fex and went to war in close combat. The fex manages to cause 2 woulnds but fell against the mighty Chaplain and Marshall.

TURN 6
The big bugs shot their guns before the hive tyrant charged in against the command squad and inflicted 1 wound from shooting 3 wounds from close combat, he then took 1 wound himself. The templars caused 1 more wound. During the templars turn they re-initiated combat and the Hive Tyrant caused 2 more wounds knocking the Marshall out. The Chaplain failed to cause a wound on the HT and that ended the game.

go those tyranids, that seems like a tense battle.

Man, nice battle. If only my gaunts could kill my friend Terms, though i have got a sweeping advance with them on a squad of 3 Crisis suits.
