Hi,
I'm going to collect an entire Regiment of Imperial Guard, and I've chosen Eslyian Drop troops as the theme. The entire army will be mounted in Valkries, and I plan to add the 127th Emperors Thunder Artillery Company as a support element. (I think thats the one - the one with 9 Medusas and a Salamander) I'm posting this as a Very slow project, but fingers crossed I'll get it done.

Well, thats what I have so far, is there anywhere you think I'm lacking? I reckon I just about have enough anti-tank and anti-titan with all those meltaguns, plus the Medusa's, and I'm thinking of including an Emperor's Talon Recon Troop in Valkries, but If I do I have No idea what I'll give them weapon-wise. So the question is, what do you think of my plan?Is there anywhere 've gone wrong, or any unfluffy or uneffective organisation?

allthough, looking at my rep on the 360 i got 100% neg feedback for "aggressive gaming"

Alot of the aggressive gaming feedbacks are for spawn camping.

Hi mate

A couple of points from another excessive collector...

1. A full Regiment of IG is thousands of troops... you are describing a medium sized Company

2. 24 Valkyries and 3 Vultures woould look fantastic flying onto an Apocalypse table... I don't think thats excessive

3. Valkyries, at the moment, come with a hull mounted Lasgun option - there is no wing mounted option

4. Technically, the standard Sentinel does not fit inside a Valkyrie - you need a FW Drop Sentinel (different leg setup to lower its overall height)... according to FW and fluff that is!

5. It's going to cost a lot of money... does your dad / mum want to adopt anyone?

All those Valk's seems excessive, until you realise my brother has 2 Khorne Chaos Warhounds, 1 Khorne Chaos Reaver and 100 Khorne Bezerkers in Rhino's, all led by Kharn the Betrayer. My freinds also ordered 10 Stompa's, and enough green tides to fill them with boyz!

Ok well your group sounds like our group. I'd still be wary about getting 24 Valks though. They're going to take up a lot of room, moreso than any trio of Chaos Titans ever will.

Thats just what he's in the process of painting up. He already has 2 traitor Battle Companies in drop pods, 3 Vindi Linebreaker formations and 4 Heavily converted Nurgle Marauders. On another note, I've decided the Emeperors Thunder(should be fury) Will be 2 Emperors Something, each with 6 Bombards and a Salamander Command Vehicle. Should give me a bit more punch.

First: Start with a company. If you buy a whole regiment at once the huge backlog of miniatures may cause distress. Playing experimental games at company scale will also allow you to refine your tactics before committing to a whole regiment.

Second: The army list you've posted is actually a company, not a regiment. A regiment is composed of one or more battalions which are in turn made up of two to seven companies. These units need not be cookie cutter. An artillery battalion for instance will include a service company in addition to its gun companies, and the regiment may have distinct heavy and light battalions.

If you really do make a full regiment you're going to end up with some quartermaster companies, and I don't mean that in the Death Korps of Krieg sense.
