Which is not to say these are worlds I want to live in, but I'd be interested in visiting them. The world where the Wachowski brothers directed the Star Wars prequels The world where Al Gore carried Tennessee and won the election in 2000. The world where John McCain was president on September 11th. The world where Rudy Giuliani ran against Hillary Clinton in 2008. The world where Rush is number one band in the world. The world where Rob Liefeld's Youngblood is hottest comic on the stands. The world where Max Headroom ran for 10 seasons. The world where Hitler was killed in World War I. The world where I stayed in Japan in 1999. The world where Bush listened to his advisers and went into Iraq with enough force and a plan for reconstruction. The world where Jimmy Carter was re-elected in 1980. The world where I was never born. The world where Peter Jackson's Dune Trilogy was the top-grossing movies of 2001-2003. The world where GW never got the LotR license and invested that energy into 40k and fantasy. The world where Twin Peaks had a 3rd season.

KK, I lived in that world for a few months, and it totally sucked taint.
I liked quite a few of yours (McCain as prez in 2001, W Brothers on the prequels). I'll share some later.

So I take it you thought the wooden acting in the prequels would have been enhanced with some grade school level philosophic tripe?

I'll take grade school level philosophic tripe over a toy commercial any day of the week. And the W Brothers are visually miles ahead of GL at this point. And part of directing is, you know, shot selection and camera placement and all that. And directing actors, something GL hasn't done effectively since the 1970's.
For movies:
I'd like to visit the world where Michael Mann adapted Gates of Fire, not Zack Snyder/300.
I'd like to visit the world where Jim Cameron directed Spider-Man and Godzilla, two projects he was interested in during the mid-90's.
For society (my country in particular):
I'd LOVE to visit the world where Abraham Lincoln serves his second term and begins actual reconstruction and reconciliation with the South after the Civil War.

There wouldn't be as many people in the hobby as LotR attracted massive amounts of new blood to the hobby GW this decade. My faith in GW to put out a core game that was actually balanced and also wasn't bogged down with a ludicrous amount of supplements and special rules would never have been resurrected. The only good side about no LotR would be that we wouldn't have to put with the thousands of whining fanboys trying desperately to attack what is arguably the best of GW's 3 core games. Incidentally LotR is set to get even bigger when WotR comes out. I've read the book and to me it looks far cleaner and enjoyablethan either 40k of WFB. It reminds me allot of Warmaster. In fact It would surprise me if it became a serious rival to WFB. But hey, why let facts get in the way of your ill informed cheap shot.

Well I figure we're not talking worlds where disease doesn't exist, dictatorships, and wars didn't exist (aka this is a non-serious thread).
A world the most popular show is "Politician Cage Fighting."
Mosquitoes catch a species specific form of Ebola and die off utterly. same for fleas, ticks, and politicians (all parasites?).
Trial by combat is still acceptable means of settling disputes between parties, but only time honored Southern style.
A world where its illegal to make movie theater popcorn without using coconut oil.
A world where terrorists don't meet up with 72 virgins, but, to quote Robin Williams "THATS 72 VIRGINIANS!!! you ASS!"
A world where Enso Ferrari moved to America and then started his car business. he brought his friends Ducati, and Bugatti along as well.
A world where all women had hot Italian/French accents.
