Anyone heard any new info on that space marine game that was floating around a while back

I'm thinking its going to be an insult to fluff.

Seems like it'll be ok, but its not really going to reflect a real feel of 40k.

No maybe noy but it did look like some brain-dead fun was lurking in there. And we could use something a little more hands on action than DOW.

I think after the 500th times you've stick your chainsword in a guardsmen/chaos marine/eldar (delete as applicable) it will get quite old quite fast, still might be fun for an hour to two

It never got old in Gears of War. But then again, that was a chainsaw bayonet which is infinitely cooler.

I don't think it really looks that great. I think if it was more like gears of war it would be better, and if you played as an imperial gurdsman or an other Army that is less elite than space marines like orks or tyranids it would be easier for the combats to not take ages but still keep in line with the fluff.

aye but gears of war revolved around shooting, in this game shooting your boltgun (which sounds like an MP5) is only to suppress the enemy before you hit them some more with good old Mr chainsword, GoW had a balance between gunplay and chainsaws this Marine game doesnt by the looks of things

It looks as if you're driving a truck, except that truck's a Space Marine.

With all that bullgak of moving backward just to face a different direction and stuff. I'm so glad I don't have an Xbox.

Gameplay looks horrible so far. Smells like one of those movie tie-in games. Visually okay, but that bolter fires like an assault rifle.

It looks ok graphically in some bits in others like that grenade blew up it looked like ,the meat sheild thing looked cool though.My other prob is it will get old and fast "chainsword smashing a chaos marine in the face again!",is not fun and the other one is whay is that bolter so ineffective and why the hell does it sound like spit balls being shot out of a piece of metal tubing?The other prob I have is in a real combat situation(yes I know its a video game)while you are all MR fancy chainsword super kill as your pulling off finishers the chaos marines and even traitor guard would shot the out of you!

Well it is very, very early in development, let's not forget.

I hadn't heard that it had been cancelled, but then again news of this game has come so erratically I'm not surprised. When I've asked staff at my local GW they were completely unaware that the game even existed (took me ages to convince them I wasn't taking about DOW2).
I first heard about it just before Xmas in an Xbox 360 magazine so if it does come out it should defo be for the 360. I think it does look a bit rough (partly due to the quality of the recorded footage as opposed to the actual game running I think), but still interesting. As has already been said it is still in early developement. Even if it does just turn out to be a 40K clone of Gears of War then that's no bad thing in my book.

I'd would like to point out the producing company's layoffs, jetesson of games and dev studios, and failure to make money last year as an indicator that this game will not see the light of day in its current form.

The game didn't even look that good.

I hope it gets canned, or reworked from the ground up.

God of War? Sure, it's fun. But adding to that, ranged weapons?

The "GoW" reference is to GEARS of War, not God of War.

I know.
The fact is, that what we originally saw was more like God of War with guns.

I could care less if they made it into a 40k version of Gears.
Gears was awesome.
It still is.

Although, a 40kified Frontlines: Fuel of War?

*That* has alot of potential.

If that game comes out i will rent it first. I want a 40k version of star wars battle front that would be shweet
