If you take Land Raiders as dedicated transports do they still take up a heavy support choice

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

To expand on the previous posts, the rule that states this is found in the core rulebook on page 67, in the inset called "Dedicated Transports".
EDIT: I can see where Land Raiders might get confused up in there, looking at the last sentence in the first paragraph. That's just stating that some vehicles do have transport capacity and can be taken as there own force organization slot. However, if it's a dedicated transport, it's considered to be a part of the unit that takes it for purposes of force organization.
Example 1: You take a squad of Chaos Terminators and give them a dedicated Land Raider. This only takes up one elite slot in the FOC.
Example 2: You have a squad of Bezerkers and want them to be carried in a LR as well. In this case, you'd need to spend a Heavy Support slot to get that LR to deploy them in.

Sure - 3 squads with the bare min. of 3 terminators and dedicated LRs with 3 LRs in the Heavy support. But that's 1590 points already with no upgrades, HQs or troops.
EDIT: 3 is the min. size for Chaos Termies. 5 LRs is also doable with with regular SMs, one for each flavor of termie plus all 3 HS choices.

Plus, chaos only has the old variation of land raider, which while useful at times, does not offer the sheer power and versatility of the LRC, which is better at killing vehicles and troops in most situations.

And the Chaos LR doesn't have the evil version of the Machine Spirit like it did in 4th ed., which is reflected in it's cheaper cost, but in essence turns it into a av 14 rhino barreling down the field that you can assault from - which is still very nice, but not as cool as the SM LRs imho.

If you want to Pack some LR into an Army, go to Black Templars. 3 as Ded Trans for Terms, Each Crusader Squad can get a LRC ad dedicated, and then 3 more from HS.

Black Templars are Without a Doubt the Kings of Land Raider Spam (baring Forge World Oddities) HQ: Chaplain with Command Squad and LRC Chaplain with Command Squad and LRC Outside of FoC: Emperors Champion Troops: 6x Crusiadier Sqquads with LRC Heavy: 3 LRC I havent totaled up the cost yet (will do now and report ASAP on the cost) but its already looking to be 7-8k points. Update: I totalled it up. Just to clarify, I didn't add any wargear to the Chaplains except Terminator Armour. The Champion had the Most Expensive Vow. Anyone who Could Take a Vet Skill took one. The Crusader Squads each took Frag/Krak and a Meltagun and 6 Neophytes. All the Land Raider Crusaders took every vehicle upgrade (even the Utterly Useless Blessed Hull and The Most Holy-Hells-Hard-to-Model-Dozer-Blade) The grant total: 8,781 Points. (^^,) Attached is an HTML export of the Roster. Yay for Army Builder!
