Apologies for several list posts - I am going to a load fo torunaments this year which are different sizes and wanted to keep them separate.

I have 2 1500 point lists here - I havn't really tried lists like these before so was wondering people's opinions:

1:

Prince
MoT
Wings
WT
BoC

7 berserkers - Fist, Rhino
7 NOise Marines, BM, 6 SBs
7 Noise Marines, BM, 6 SBs
6 Noise Marines, Fist/Doom siren/Rhino/ 6 SBs
8 1k Sons - Sorc w/ BoC, Rhino
2 Oblits

or

2:
Las Prince - Wings

7 Berserkers, Fist, Rhino
6 NMs, 6 SBs
6 NMs 6 SBs
6 Noise Marines, Fist/Doom siren/Rhino/ 6 SBs
8 1k Sons - Sorc w/ BoC, Rhino
2 Oblits
2 Oblits

The key differences are the princes (i think lash would probably work better here) and the removal of BMs (and one model each!) from the NM squads... Way I see it though BMs are overpriced (60 points!!!!) and restrict the unit a lot; they are however versatile and are not are easy a target to kill as the oblits in 1 round of LC fire.

Most tournies in the UK now seem to be heavily objective based and I feel these lists would at least hold their own...

Opionions are, as always, gratefully received!

It may be just me, but power fists seem like a waste on a model with m/i of slaanesh.

Also, I'm wondering if you have a reason for giving a rhino to the 1k sons before the noise marine squads.

Noise Marine squads have 3 shots if they shoot heavy so those two are destined to primarily sit back at 24"... 1k Sons must get into rapid fire range asap... I have 2 assault based squads in the zerkers and DS NMs...

I hear what you're saying on the PF thing but I have lost key squads in tournies by taking power weapons and getting eaten by big things.. I may, however, take PW & MBs...

I never take PWs on zerkers as they usually get so many wounds that, due to wound allocation, people can allocate several PW wounds onto the same character so the fist is much better IMO for them.

What's your reasoning? Str8 Ap3 Blast, Pinning.... isn't that what they do? That's fearsome, especially with lash.

Blastmasters are very expensive, and cannot be used while moving, severely limiting their value even with their dangerous stats.

I would go with the second list, and maybe drop a squad of NM for PM. If you are worried about objectives, nothing will hold them better than some plague marines. Plus you get every God represented in there, which is always fun.

I thought the Blastmaster could be use on the move as a slower heavy bolter? its varied frequency? it does mean you can run and gun with one in your squad if you want to or you can sit back and blast the enemy to hell. Imo they are worth there weight in points powerful yet versatile thats what your paying for

With melta avialable in every squad but zerkers, and MM and TL melta AND plasma cannon available on oblits, the Blastmaster is just not what it used to be. It was our own little Plasma Cannon Lite in the last codex, now its just really expensive and makes you have to choose what to do with the NM squad. Paying 40 points for a St5 pinning gun is not effiecient. And If you sit still long enough to fire at st8 you are wasintg a ton of St4 shots on something that they will probobly bounce off of, or they are not moving to get into their awesome assaults. Which is what wins battles in 5th edition.

Thats my experience with them anyway.
