Are there any major differences between brands of black undercoat? I'm trying to avoid spending $15 for a can of spray paint, but I don't want my paint to end up flaking off or anything...

Has anyone tried "Armory" brand primer. It's only $6 at my FLGS, so I'm interested in seeing if anyone has used it.

I personally use "Board to Pieces" primer. I used to use Citadel but I got tired of paying so much for it and the shop where I buy all my gaming stuff at a lesser price stopped using citadel primer as well. The guys there use what I do, I can't see a difference at all, and you get more paint for less money.

"From the fires of Betrayal unto the blood of revenge we bring the name of Lorgar, the Bearer of the Word, the favored Son of Chaos, all praise be given to him. From those that would not heed we offer praise to those who do, that they might turn their gaze our way and gift us with the Boon of Pain, to turn the Galaxy red with the blood, and feed the hunger of the Gods."

Both me and my roomie use Armory - works fine and it's cheaper. Go for it!

If you can find Duplicolor sandable black primer( from auto parts stores) It's the best stuff I have ever used. Only about 3-4 bucks to boot.
It leaves an amazing amount of detail, and I've never had it fuzz in over 3 years now.

GW didn't mean to hit your wallet and I know they love you, baby. I'm sure they won't do it again so it's ok to purchase and make up.
