This Apocalypse battle was fought at 4500pts for each side (give or take a 100pts). My Guard army joined the Greater Good for this battle in order to make the points come out about even.

The Black Templar player had a small contingent of Necrons.

The fiercest part of the fighting occurred over one 'No-Man's Land' objective in a ruined building. Our time limit ended at turn 4, and It was a draw: 2 objectives each.

The battle report will be mostly pictures.

These aspect warriors formed an advanced deployment on our left flank.

The last Dark Reaper can be seen from accross the table. The aspect warriors on that flank attracted most of the fire in the first phase.

The Hammerhead takes aim at the dreadnought in an attempt to slow the BT advance.

The Black Templars advance out of the ruins toward a central objective.

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 009.JPG]
The Necrons formed a spearhead pushing toward the central objective in the ruined building

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 010.JPG]
The Eldar Guardians took up a position on this wooded hillside, controlling an objective. They suffered a few casualties from Battlecannon fire, but held the objective.

The striking scorpions take cover in a ruined bunker.

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 012.JPG]
The Tau infantry move to take an objective, while the Imperial Armor advances onto the battlefield.

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 013.JPG]
This ruined building contained the central objective and attracted the most attention.

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 014.JPG]
A shot of the Necrons after fierce round ordnance. They were tough, and the resurrection orb really paid off.

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 016.JPG]
The BT Marshal deepstrikes into the fiercest part of the battle. He called down an orbital bombardment that destroyed 2 classic sentinels and a Leman Russ.

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 017.JPG]
These Stromtroopers deepstrike deep into the enemy area to use their meltaguns on a Fire Prism

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 019.JPG]
The Stormtroopers were brave, but the Chaplain led an assault that destroyed them.

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 020.JPG]
The immobolized Hammerhead continues to contribute to the battle effort. Here it destroyed the enemy dreadnought.

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 021.JPG]
The Marshal wasted no time getting into the thick of the battle. The area where his terminator command squad sits saw the fiercest fighting and most carnage.

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 024.JPG]
Fearing that the BT Marshal would succeed in pushing for the central objective, Feldmarshal Goehring called for an orbital bombardment with devastating effect.

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 025.JPG]
The Crusaders and Assault Marines head for cover after a harsh round of Baneblade cannon fire.

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 026.JPG]
The Chaplain moves to secure an objective, as the battle unfolds up the ruined city streets. In the distance, the muzzles of the Earthshaker cannon and Baneblade cannon are targeting in the ruined city

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 027.jpg]
The Razorback driver crashes through the ruins immobolizing his tank.

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 028.jpg]
The Imperial Battleline advances as the armor thunders accross the battlefield. A Leman Russ tank squadron advances line abreast.

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 029.jpg]
Behind the advancing armor, the Tau firewarriors hold an objective.

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 030.jpg]
Guard infantry hold our rearmost objective. They are spread out to prevent deepstriking in the area. They suffered many casualties to the grenades of deepstriking Swooping Hawks.

[Thumb - Apocalypse One 031.jpg]
The Eldar Autarch and Warp Spiders warped deep behind the advancing Imperial battle line. They quickly destroyed the Basilisk, and forced Feldmarshal Goehring to fight a rearguard action with a nearby fire support squad and a nearby anti-tank squad.

HOW DID IT END!!!!!

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole

The Battle ended in a draw. Each side controlled 2 objectives in their own zone. The central objective was buried in the bodies of the dead warriors who had tried to claim it. Unfortunately, my camera batteries died. The carnage over the one objective was enormous. Thousands of points were lost on each side trying to claim that objective. It was truly apocalyptic.

It was getting late when our time limit expired, and one of the players couldn't continue. Also, a draw seemed like a good ending considering the sheer numbers of the losses on each side.

yeah,
9000 points of painted models on the table FTW!
When I saw the setup shots my first reaction was It looked like it was going to be a little one sided, both imperial guard and tau being gun line armies, with a hugh area of open ground infront of them! I was expecting the blood bath! but the eldar SM guys seemed to cope with it!

nice batrep, lots of photos! (Photos for the Photo God!)

Wow, I love seeing good action shots like this.

It's kind of sad that it was two shooty armies against each other, though. Apocalypse craves massed charges, although the deployment picture of all that imperial armor in the corner was pure win.
