Okay so I felt like a laugh, but google turned up nothing. I think I'm spelling it wrong, but I've tried a few variations and all I can find is a Vietnamese Pho Bo (which does happen top be an excellent soup, but warhams it ain't.) .

So for anyone who doesn't know, this is a DIY codex that was made by some kid back around the 2001~2003 period. If I remember correctly, it was totally OP, had disgraceful fluff and had the CG image of a Pan Fo warrior that looked like a bubbly-transformer-fing-a-mushroom kind of thing.

This is now the thread of Pho Pan, Pan Fo, Fu-Bar lulzing at this thing, so come on everyone who remembers, let's take a trip down memory lane and share some laughs at the expense of these fail-iens.

Beware the Pan-Fo, lest they be reviled.

I've heard them mentioned on here numerous times, but never found any trace of them. Put me in a skirt and call me Dana; I want hard evidence before I start running into fields and shouting ''They're here!!''.

If the guy that made it really is a memeber here, I'd love for him to post in this thread. I mean, I've been pretty harsh about it so far but I'd like to ask him what he thinks looking back on it.

The member is NATO_chrisjm, so I suggest if you want to see what he thinks on it, either read Malfred's second link or PM and ask him to contribute to the thread.

This gak again? For anyone who even still cares, it was some bullgak that someone came out with and tried to pass off as cannon.

This was someones attempt to pawn a new race. This isn't even a memory, it was a bad conversation we had here a long time ago.

You can rank on it if you want, but it wasn't a real conversation, just a musing that took off and grew its own myth.

Er... no... it wasn't.

He never made any attempt to pass it off as canon.

The whole thing came about because he showed his homebrew codex to one of the Devs at a Games Day, and the Dev said 'Yeah. that's great, send it in...'

Which spawned a thread on the GW boards as the poor guy tried to find out how to get back in contact with the Devs in order to send it to the right place, fully convinced that his little creation was going to be turned into a real codex, if only he could get it to the ball on time. He eventually posted a link to his website, in the hope that someone from GW would see it... and much hilarity ensued.

Interesting read, that codex. Especially the pyichic weapons, Raze the Dead would have to be the most broken pyichic power ever.

Yeah, if I recall correctly, the codex wasn't uploaded as text, it was uploaded as a bunch of gigantic .jpg images of text, making it an absolutely huge-ass file that was therefore a lot less likely to have been saved by the 'net archiving programs of the time. Unless someone saved it to their hard disk, it is probably lost forever.

The fact that it was all images also meant that the Pan-Fo Codex almost immediately exceeded its bandwidth limit, meaning it was easy to troll people by pretending it was awesome. "Oh, just keep trying every few hours, when you get through it will be totally worth it!"

The Pan Fo have been REVILED AGAIN!

I kinda feel bad making fun of this guy too much. A lot of the younger players think of some horrible ideas. This guy just had the perseverance to finish his and try to show it to someone.

Will there be no end to the reviling of the Pan Fo?
