I'm still mad I didn't get a chance to go to Germany for 2006's World Cup.
It'd be awesome to hit up the World Cup in South Africa, though (check off one more continent on my "have visited" list too!).

If I get the chance to watch an England game at the World Cup i'd be there faster than a fat kid to the burger stand.

Nah. I'll just enjoy the shattered dreams as England are dumped out, on Penalties, probably against Germany, in the Quarter finals from the comfort of my local Pub.
The humiliation the team suffers every time almost makes up for the relentless chest beating in the gutter press.

Aint that the truth, I predict Italy or Portugal to knock us out, still I might go and see a Spain game if it got the chance to do that, at least I can watch more players from my club team than the English team

I doubt you'll even make it past the first round this time. You struggled enough during qualifying. Sure, things would have changed a bit since then, and the new Manager might work out, but until the Manager can get it through the thicker players heads that there is no such thing as a guaranteed place on the team (Beckham, Rooney et al) they will remain utterly incapable of playing as a team, and not a bunch of self satisified prime donas.
I mean, seriously, your group wasn't the hardest. Poor old Scotland. We got the Winners, and the Runners Up in ours. And proceeded to beat them both and miraculously sit pretty at the top of the group. Not bad for a self confessed crap international team
P.S. I understand Italy will be handing the Cup to Scotland as way of acknowledging their rather shocking defeat

I won't be going.
The coverage is too good on TV to warrant travelling to another continent to watch a football match.
If I had free tickets and I was flown there for free, yes.... but otherwise no.

MDG: I trust you didn't watch England play Croatia then? That was an utterly brilliant performance against a very good side. Our B team became the first team to bet Germany in Berlin since the 70s too recently. I wouldn't write England off, the quality is clearly there, and with a manger who's worth a damn, we could have a shot at being dumped out on penalties in the semis this time, not the quarters! Oh, and when was the last time that Scotland got past the first round of the world cup? Oh, sorry...that'll be never.
I'd love to go to South Africa, but I'm too poor. I love that Lucas Radebe's involved with it though, he's a real hero of mine.

Well, we are a self confessed crap team. Doesn't stop us trying though!
England however, seem to lack all consistency. Sure, you can take on Croatia in a decent game, but then you lose some games needlessly all because your players seem to consider it won the second the whistle goes.

Actually, England have only lost two games under Capello, one of which came against the best team in the world. The acusation you levelled at Englad has certainly been true in the past, going foward, I'm highly optimistic. I just hope Fabio remembers to take some strikers to this world cup...

Well I'm sure Rooney will prove to be an ill tempered petulan little brat thus ruining any chance by leaving you with 10 men, down a striker, and trying to equalise shortly after half time in the Quarter Final.
Probably against Germany.
Oh how I loathe that goon.
