I am out of touch with it, last time I played we had squats, trikes, ratlings and robots....
Dreadnoughts had twin bolters mounted on the back of there hands, Guardsmen carried Lascannons and Heavy Bolters on their shoulders and sentinels has Assault cannons...
Ahhh so many fond memories, So many dead eldar.....

This is bit of a over-generalization no?
I'm no advocate of making war fun for kiddies, but it's rather obtuse to define an entire medium by a few rotten examples.
Watch Grave of the Fireflies - I can assure you that it does NOT make light of war.
/Not a rabid fanboi of anime, but really is irritated when people make comments like this.

On a more serious note:.....wait. I don't think I can add anything serious to that. I mean, I don't think it has to be bad, but it looks really weird and I have trouble believing how someone can come up with an idea like that.

To tell the truth, I really do dislike, well hate anime.
Why I don't read manga: I don't like serious cartoons. Why I dislike anime: Its a cartoon soap-opera.
I also dislike jrpg's so anything I say relative to anime, manga, or jrpg's can be discounted as hatred. I openly welcome the criticism as I think anime and manga has ruined america's youth.
Why this, because my younger cousin used my laptop to download everysingle japanese version of the naruto show. When I tried to install DoW Soulstorm it told me I had no memory. It took me well over 2 hours to find and delete every...single...episode.
USA GI makes sense except that there are more than just GI's over in Iraq. You got Army(GI), Marines(devil dogs), and special forces(SEALS and delta). Not to mention the brits and other guys.
Like I said, please feel free to discount what I say. I may sound ignorant and not know anything about the manga but seriously, I could care less.

Honestly I have never seen a manga (hope I got that right so the fanbois don't jump me) that really appealed. It WAS kinda funny that the USA GI's were rabbits, didn't catch the Usagi reference in that which was no suprise.
I thought it was good. VERY polished in it's production. Serious, which is good because I don't do "camp" very well.
I think it was entertaining for the same reason that a lot of war movies that piss off people by showing the wrong ships (looking at you Ben Affleck in Pearl Harbour) or put the gold braid on the COB's cover piss people off. I tend to take these thigns for what I see them to be; an attempt at some kind of entertainment. Imperfect, yeah. So's any mirror.

For an animated video it looks yeah, the things walk a little funny sure, but I've never seen a rabbit or camel walk on their hind legs. Seen a dog do it though, freaky as hell...

To be fair, while the CGI TV series(which this is a promo for) is being updated for the Iraqi war, the original Manga is actually a sociopolitical commentary on the brutality(from BOTH sides) of the Vietnam war.

As a veteran, I don't find anything really offensive about this and if what others are saying about the meaning of the original series is true, then its just another "War is hell" story. But with bunnies... really really cute bunnies running around in MOLLIE vests, but I digress. I just don't see much of a "WTF is this gak" kinda thing. Hell, you could almost call this Metal Gear Bunny.

Umm, there’s a pretty long history of anthropomorphism in mature fiction. And that long history doesn’t start with Japanese media. Watership Down, Animal Farm and Alice in Wonderland are all really important parts of literature and all use anthropomorphism to great effect. It isn’t necessarily a weird furry thing, there are good literary reasons for using animals in place of humans to tell a story.
I’m not saying this show will be any good. I haven’t read the comic and while I’ve been told its good, I’ve only heard that from people who are really into the whole furry thing, so it’s possible it could just be part of that scene and not have all that much for the rest of us. Be interesting to hear more about this when a Western version is released, because the production values look excellent.

Brutality from BOTH sides you say? Its war, no matter what you do its going to be brutal. Its just that some people are too brutal.
If they have the GI reference from Vietnam then yeah I get that.
Note, I didn't find it offensive. I just REALLY hate anime and manga. I don't like most serious comics either.
