Hello.

Out of pure curiosity, I have some questions about guns:

1. Is it difficult to get a Gun License/Whatever-To-Own-A-Firearm in Texas?
2. Are M40 rifles commercially available? I would guess no, because of their manufacture, but you can never be sure.
3. How much would an M4 set you back?

You can get any weapon you want as long as its not working(bazookas or heavy machine guns) or it is semi-automatic. You can buy a semi-auto AK47.

However, you can get a $300 or so dollar license allowing you to own automatic weapons.

An M4 could cost around $1,000 or so dollars if it is semi-auto. An AK sells for about $1,200 and an old tommy gun sells from $900-$1,200 also.

M4's are military. Unless you have a class 3 or police, you no get legally. Badges, we don't need no steenking badges!

We don't have licenses in Texas. In general, citizen with minimum age requirement, no history of mental illness or certain types of crimes. Yankees, Californians, long haired freaky people, and those who do not swear allegiance to both Texas and Tex/Mex need not apply. It used to be illegal to own firearms unless you had already eaten your body weight in chicken fried steak and biscuits n' gravy, but that was declared unconstitutional.

Old standard issue sniper rifle. Replaced with the Berret if i remember correctly. Also the best sniper rifle in Call of Duty 4.

We can get them legally, the local firing range has some that are semi-auto for about $1,000 as I said. The class 3 is the license I was talking about, thanks for knowing the name.

Oh, yea. Sorry. Thats just a military version of a Remington deer rifle. Cheaper to get the deer rifle. Better to get an M1A.


Thos aren't technically M4s. Those are AR-15 parts and subparts. Yes you can make a near complete semi auto version, but you're not going to find a Colt M4 (semi) on the market. I want to get a dragunov actually, its a pretty cool looking rifle.

The range I go to has barret 50cal rifles for rent and buy. To buy its close to the price of a small car. Its free to rent but you gotta buy ammo which is the price of a small animal.

My grandfather has a M1 Garand and a M1A1 Carbine from his time in the service. Hes giving my dad the M1, but is keeping the carbine. He says that he uses it to hunt moles.

Yea. Has a good kick to. I'll admit thats way too much for me. I top out about .30-06 or 45/70 blackpowder on the comfort scale.

Nope. M40 is still active service. Barrett isn't a standard service rifle, usually given over to headquarters defense units, from what I remember talking to a Marine.

Even police have trouble getting them. You have to be able to get a Class 3 firearms license for a fully automatic M4.

i find myself questioning the sale of guns along side old junk and ratty clothes next to the side of the road on a saturday morning though

Truthfully I had not thought about yardsales for firearms. But I've not voluntarily been to a yard sale ever.

I guess the Remington would be a cheaper option than an M40, and available much more widely. It's still about £1,000.

We once got an article in a Magazine (The Telegraph Magazine, Sunday Morning with toast and Tea. Nothing beats.) about some crazy Americans who just packed out on firearms, basically just Yankee-bashing. I quite clearly remember some strange man having about thirty perfect black M4s (They goddamn looked like M4s) just lined up. Would you expect those to be -15s?

Fraz old buddy, I have 2 German marked K98's and two Lee Enfields... one from WW1 marked Tower Of London Armoury, the other your run of the mill Mk4.

Best thing ive found at a yard sale was a 1916 Lugar in damn near 90% condition. Best $400 ive spent.

Yep, had a working one for $800 but I figure it would take less than $700 to get it to shoot at least once. I should've bought and worked on it, I regret my decision. I want a luger though, those look fun.

Im actually in the process of de-sportarizing A 03 Springfield. Someone had the nerve to put a kevlar stock on that rifle. However im keeping the Match grade trigger onboard.

American Legion sells some good quality antique/ replica firearms if you really want one.

Yeah. I took it to the range last week for some test shots, and at 100 Yrds I almost shot MOA with it. I can see why it was the favored sniper rifle for so long.

I've always wanted to fire the SKS my dad has, but we need to drive over a hour away to do so.

It has a bayonet still attached and looks good.
