I'm going to go build a IG army on the day the new codex comes out... But i'm unsure on what to grab.

I'm thinking a armored tank army with infanty and heavy weapon teams as support, with a trio of plasma cannon weilding sentinals following just behind ;3

Anyone else has ideas?

I use to play the armored company list from the old website so I have a fair amount of tanks with some stormtroopers.

The tank list made the tanks always more expensive but now that tanks can come in squads I think tanks are going to be some slowed stuff going around, being able to obliterate entire squads.... muwahahahaha

anyways, I would take Stormtroopers as troops then throw down like a squad of LRMBT, a squad of demolishers, and one artilery (might have to change out my bassies, the compilation makes them look kind of dumb)

Also, throwing your entire footsloggers into valks or chimeras is going to be close to slowed

From a model perspective, whether you're using Cadians or Catachans, go and grab 20-man boxes now. Anywhere from 2-4 of them. Failing that, get Battleforces (about 2-3 will set you off well). Then when the new ones come out, get 2 of those.

Regular Guardsmen are about to go up in cost, so get the 20-man boxes while you can, either in the (superior) BattleForces, or just by themselves.

The big differences are
1. a Leman Russ Battle Tank in the old set versus a Sentinel in the new one...
2. a command set (five plastic figs plus plenty of bits) in the new one
3. No terrain (ruined buildings) in the new set

I mean the pack of 20-man boxes of the troops ;3

I knew about the nice battleforce set ;p

The new boxes will have extra bits to make Vets and Conscripts IIRC - but will only come 10 to a box.

Other than that they are the same as the old ones.

And what's so good about vets and conscripts? Should i just bulk out on guardsmen to fill up my numbers?
