Now bear with me guys, I know this my seem a bit redundant based on the title (haven't written catchy slogans in ages). I play EC, adoring them for their background and credo (for lack of a better word). As part of the army I want to field obliterators, their very tactically flexible, and hardy units. The problem I have with them is that i find the models atrocious. I was thinking of fielding converted techmarine models, the fluff would be that they were "magos" level techs having develled deeply into archeo and xeno tech to give them the obliterator stats. i was going to field one unit of three, each techmarine fluff wise would have specialised in one race's (tau, eldar, necron) tech using their gained knowledge to create and compile their arsenal. they would be modeled appropriately, sketches to follow. What do you think?

I think it could work..... why don't you kit bash some techmarines with some terminators?

i hate the current oblits (well, every one GW has made so far)
so it would be nice to see some decent models for them

For the legs i think termi would be the most visually pleasing, they look stable enough for what I want to do. specifically for the eldar i was thinking of a torso/servo harness formed in the angular shape of the vyper jetbike, having the weapons attached in the "backpack" area. as well as tempest launcher style weapon in hand, a thunder hammer in the other, gs some spirit stone, and use a fine width file to get the eldar metal work lines on the armour.

i made a few from techmarines, though im not too sure im happy with them....
i keep wondering if they would look better painted or if i should redo them completely.

sweet. I'm actually planning to using plastic sm/csm bits as well as necessary xeno bits. I'm striving to give them the look assimilation, so the imperial/xeno look is blended.

this is a sketch of my "eldar" tech inspired magos. I hope this gives a clearer idea of what I'm going for.

I know the shoulder pad is too small but, I didn't want it to cover the torso detail. C & C please

i think the vyper may be a bit too big for your needs, maybe just a jetbike chopped down. Interesting idea overall, definately wanna see it implemented.

Yes, I agree that the jetbike would be better in size. When I mentioned the vyper I was more implying how the backpack weapons would be attached. thank you for your input.

gracias for the vote of confidence, sadly though it may take some time to actually begin make them as I'm curently deployed. right now I just trying to knock as many conceptual creations for future projects as I can.

Sure, why not. I think the current fluff even mentions something about Dark Mechanicus.
I don't get why you went all Eldar with that concept though...

well that's just the first one, there's another for necron, and one for tau in the works. the army fluff being that these are magos who have spent ages in the warp, each solely studying tech of that race attempting to unlock all of their secrets. I imagine that during such time they'd little things to improve their armour and gear, and upgrade them. this happening over and over again for centuries eventually the line between imperial/xeno tech gets so blurry that they don't distinguish differences. If this is an improvement, it matter's not the source.

I recommend you think of threads like yogurt. You mix it up, and then you put it in the yogurt maker overnight, and when you come back in the morning it's yogurt. You make a thread, and then you leave it overnight and when you come back, if you did it right, there are lots of responses waiting for you like delicious, healthy, thickening bacteria. But if you keep fiddling with it, it won't mature correctly at all.

So stop posting in this thread for a while. If people are going to post, they don't need you trying to guilt them into it.

I might, but for the eldar and the tau I want more lithe appearance. As for the powerfist equivalent will have servo arm modeled, I just can't find one i like for the eldar.
