Those are the fantasy tables, right?

My buddy Eric Hagen made some hills for warhammer ancients this year because of the deplorable state of those hills used for ancients.

Not knocking adepticon at all, because its gotta be hard to make terrain for that many games and I am sure thy depend on a lot of people donating their time to make stuff for the event.

Anyways, if you see Hagen, tell him dat "orks is da best!" He will agree and you will have an instant friend.

Yeah, please tell me those are fantasy tables. I would hate to see the cavalcade of Adepticon BatReps arrive over the next couple of weeks and see nothing but bare tables in 40K games.

Yeah, most of those tables are looking pretty sparse, terrain-wise.

Of course, there are a lot of tables in that picture, I can sympathize. But still....

40K tables start at least Row 3 in that picture(those are grey Building Ruins).

Yes, those are Fantasy tables. The terrain on the 40 tables still looks a little light to me, but I'm used to so much terrain that skimmers really do have an advantage.

Also, Sabol's Red Orktober (there's a scavenger hunt game to go along with it; you're given a list of bits, and you have to draw on a diagram of the ship as to where they are).

Is the first picture a pretty good gauge of the size of the room or is that only a part?

Wow Orktober is bigger than I thought and thats an awesome way to mount it.

From what I understand the hunt for Red Orctober is kinda like a Space hulk deal where a number of players running squads of Orcs and Marines fight it out. Could be wrong.

As far as the tables. Those are definatly not the 40K tables. The 40K tables were almost all primarily done at my LFGS. By Dave Creswell, Brett Malone (owners of Cap. City Games in Spfld., IL) and literally a "TON" of volunteers. Adepticon is one of if not the biggest independent con in the US and you gotta respect the ludicrous amount of effort that goes into it.

I'll be there this weekend; but wont be arriving until tonight around 5. Thanks for the early bird pics.

But really is there anything more important than dollies and greasy old men for the weekend.

LOL

I didn't have anyone to go with and didn't want to run hotel myself. Then today, I stop at store in my hometown and hear owner went to Adepticon and then recall he offered me spot in his room. I felt a tear on my cheek!

Adepticon Friday for me:

  1. I live in the city, and yet I missed my turn and ended up taking an extra hour to get there.
  2. Tried to get breakfast, was told it would be cash only at the drive thru. And I was still lost at the time.
  3. Line during the first hour to pick up packets was long.
  4. Yakface pretended to talk to me so I wouldn't feel lonely.
  5. Spent minutes searching the Red Orktober for something called a "master battery".
  6. Made fun of AncientSociety for playing a girl in Combat Patrol and losing. Sexism demanded that I'd get to make fun of him if he won, too.
  7. I think that's how people feel when they play me, though.
  8. Armorcast guys were trying to talk up some new Techwalk stuff they had in the works. They knew they had me.
  9. Realized I hadn't brought extra deodorant and I was still hungry.
  10. Dragged Grand Preceptor to Target and bought food.
  11. Forgot the extra deodorant.
  12. While I was buying food at Target, they opened the concession stands.
  13. Told that no outside food was allowed in the ballroom.
  14. Lorek and AgeofEgos stalked me through my purse. I should have taken a picture with them but wanted to leave no evidence.
  15. Plastic Legions John gave me his old army tray to display the Wood Elves.
  16. The tray was too big. No wonder he made a new one!
  17. Tried to pretend that my Wood Elf army belonged in that room filled with beautifully worked armies.
  18. Realized I had no "objective marker" for the tournament.
  19. Stole one of Mannahin's.
  20. Got spanked by a Warriors of Chaos army at a thousand points.
  21. Two local gamers in the seminary stopped by to say hi. They had their Deacon gear on. I asked them to hang around in case I had to face Undead.
  22. Got spanked by a Vampire Counts army at two thousand points.
  23. No Deacons to be found.
  24. Stalked one of Janthkin's games with his cool metallic Eldar.
  25. Got spanked by a Vampire Counts army at three thousand points.
  26. No Deacons to be found.
  27. During the tournament, I stared at an opponent's crotch long enough to inform him to zip up his fly.
  28. Asked Centurion99 if I could play with my models on Red Orktober , and he told me he would kick me in the nuts just because.
  29. Ran because yakface asked me out on a date. With the other guys, that is. Wait, that sounds ickier...

Oh, just bring your 40k!

Lotr is big. Epic doesn't get too many, and BFG gets a few.

AncientSociety runs the Necromunda, so you can message him to find out how that
went. I'm not so sure on Mordheim.

Oh, alright....

Maybe I can get enough of a current edition army painted up by next year...although it's been so long since I played 40k I'm pretty sure whatever I bring would get annihilated. I guess I could probably play Fantasy too, if I wanted to go the "mainstream" route.

Of course, if anyone is planning on some Flames of War or Warmachine/Hordes for next year, that'd just be swell.
