Perfect for an alternate IG regiment. Though I note they left out plasma guns.
How inconsiderate of them. I'm starting to notice a trend with all of these miniature companies outwith GW 40k figures - They all leave out the plasma guns.

My biggest problem with these guys, the Napoleonics, and the Wargames Factory Zulu War British soldiers is that they don't come with actual bases.

Vladsimpaler: they don't include bases because there's no consistency in basing for historical rules, and a lot of historicals players will base on basswood strips or washers rather than 'official gaming' bases. Old Glory, Sash & Sabre, etc. don't include bases either.
These figures are AWESOME. I will certainly be getting a pack to use for Gloire! and LOTHS.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil |

Yeah, these are pretty great. I can think of a lot of uses for these besides just ECW. They'd work well for Mordheim, definitely, and with a bit of conversion they'd probably make a cool Necromunda gang, IG regiment, LatD (I know, right? ), or even Chaos/Genestealer cultists.
But I mean hey, English Civil War would be cool too.

These guys from this company are only 28mm.
I picked up the zombies. Good for extra meat for zombie games, but for 40K these guys are kinda lacking.
I wouldn't mind if they would increase the size seeing that the industry standard is increasing to 30-33mm.

I think that's only GW's standard (and those that compete with them). The historical market is still largely true 25-28mm. I don't see that changing.
Man, there are so many plastic kits now, for all different periods, I'm ready to explode from being pulled in so many different directions.

Those are pretty neat, and might make some neat sniper teams or something for IG.
Grot 6: Actual 25mm IG would probably look better than GWs IG when shown with Orks or SM when you get right down to it. The fact that Cadians are about as big as SM really bugs me. GW should either scale up their marines, or scale down their regular humans to make them fit their own fluff.

I really think those are great models. The detail work is great. Luckily for me no one in the area I know is involved in historical wargaming otherwise I would be tempted to spend even more money.

There's almost certainly people around who play historicals, you just have to find them. Think of it as an excuse to make new friends.

Aside from the lack of plasma rifles, I notice that it looks like they have separate hats! As in, not cast as part of the head. Wow, I might have to buy some just for the hats. Nothing says 'character' like a hat! Is it a rough and ready bush hat, or a foppish noble hat with a peacock feather?
Nice looking minis. So, GW is repacking their IG for about 20% more. Other vendors are selling at about 30% of GW's price for historicals. Yes, it doesn't have plasma rifles, and yes, it's not an official GW model, and yes, they need to price it cheap to get it to sell, but - wow, that's a huge price discrepancy. And it's not like GW's cost is signficantly higher because they're trying to recoup the excellent and tight rules sets they produce.....

See the thing is, GW used to have all these companies doing their plastic casting, then a certain gent (who currently works in our procurement department) took them down the "internal" route (which results in things like the Baneblade and the spending of several million quid in development) which now means all these companies now have capacity to do other peoples casting!
Result is more people being able to do Plastic Moulds, and more plastic figures of excellent quality hitting the market with a generic "Win Win" for us collectors!
Yay! (Does happy dance)
Wehrkind.... GENIUS! Sod "Real scale marines" do "Real Scale IG" using historical figures.... bloody genius and much cheaper! :-)
I must consult with the rest of our gamming group!

It might be a good excuse to make new friends. But my first argument is better for my relationship with my own wallet.

I have the zombie pack, and No, They don't look better. Even standing up against the RT IG guys, they are too small.
Think of playing 40K with your figures from The Last Night on Earth.
I'm ending up using them for that game. (Might as well get some use out of them.)
