I just bought DoW 2, am I the only one who hate this game.

The new DoW sucks, compaired to the first one.

In the campagine mode, you just walk threw it,

The multi-player mode isn't any better.

You don't build up your force or base to attack or defend.

It reminds me of Warcraft and Warcraft 2 came out. Warcraft 2 was just about your badass character and a few other squads, and just trying to destroy your enemy as fast as you can before they resummon their badass. (a very breif comparison)

So does anyone else think this new DoW stinks?

Instead of being able to turtle in your base and make buildings on a battlefield that is the size of a really small skirmish, in DoW2 you actually go out and fight over territory, use cover, have suppression, fallback, etc. I like DoW2 a lot more than DoW1. The campaign was pretty good, obviously it was too easy for you... let me guess, you chose easy mode? Captain is fairly challenging and Primarch is very hard.
In DoW2 you don't build up your forces to attack or defend, you are ALWAYS fighting, every second of the game you must be on alert. There's no time to just queue up units and build bunkers.

He spelt through as threw, perhaps my grammar isn't as good as I want it to be but isn't the latter, the way he wrote it used to describe throwing something in the past tense? As in: "The boy threw the hammer at the window shattering it."

Dawn of War 2 makes perfect sense given relics progression from the original Dawn of War to Company of Heroes.

When you play CoH you're basically playing DoW, except WW2 with more a more fleshed out objective and cover system. Their RTS games (if you can even call DoW2 that) were just moving in this progression. CoH is really the first sequel to DoW, and DoW2 is the sequel to CoH.

I won't be surprised when a new Company of Heroes game comes out and is heavily influenced by DoW2. All their RTS titles over the past decade have simply built off of each other [and for the better in my opinion.]

DoW2 is so significantly different from the original DoW though that I think they should have given it a different title. Also, disappointing again that there is only one campaign.

And really, reviews were up for the game before it came out.

And if you don't read a review before you purchase a product (especially a video game, when the market is flooded with a lot of junk titles] then it's your own fault. All the movies, images, and previews of DoW2's single player campaign fairly cleared showed that DoW2 wasn't going to be DoW but with better graphics.

Nothing is stopping anyone from still playing DoW.

I played it at a community day last year. Overall response was extremely positive (though free Pizza and Coke and that helped!).

It's hardly inferior to the first game, just different.

I didn't even buy it, it sounds kind of bleh.

DoW1 though was magical ice cream in a golden cone.

Just a question for everyone, what kind of specs does your pc have to have? I absolutely love the campaign mode on Dark Crusade, is the DOW2 campaign anything like that?

DOW2 requires a lot better computer than DOW1. You can look up the requirements on their site I believe.

i think this game is better then starcraft from the battle-reports starcraft is just spamming some units and send em to the base of the enemy

DoW 2 is more tactical

their is not better feeling then running my warboss through terrain and bull rushing the enemy. DOW1 didn't have that. It takes constant thinking to play DOW2 probably why the OP hated it. -__-
