I've been putting together a pretty big order for IG / Apoc planned for the summer. Valk squadron, Basilisk Battery, Shadowswords to complete a Superheavy Company, etc. (nice, eh?)

Now, I recently ordered a bunch when the SM Codex and Apoc came out, so my backlog is actually relatively "high". Plus, I've got loads of stuff already at home (over 20k pts of 40k) - more than I'll ever play all at once.


So the thought crossed my mind that maybe, just maybe I've got "enough" for now?


But the new stuff is so cool!

Surely not.

And those valks will need some artillery support..so the basilisks are pretty much mandatory.

and you can't very well have a half of a super-heavy company now can you? What would the neighbors think?

Better go ahead and pick up those Shadowswords too.

You can never have enough unless you are nolonger financially capable of supporting the army or if better looking guard models come out.

*stares at box filled with mostly shrinkwrapped boxes, probably a couple of grand's worth*

What's this 'enough' you speak of? Explain the concept to me.

What's the rush.
Apart from the Basilisks all of the models you mention are new. They will be around for a looong time.
Get your existing models painted.

Unless, of course, you are getting them at a limited period only sale/discount.

Actually the primary buying thought process was much simpler:
- Valks are nice models, and now in plastic? DO WANT!
- Guard for Apoc, so more Basilisks? DO WANT!
- Shadowsword = Destroyer? DO WANT!
- mega-Transport? DO WANT!

So, as I with cash and budget, might as well buy the stuff I want.

i'd say use the old british navy rule from the 1800's. as long as the british navy was bigger than the combined #2 and #3 countries navies, they had enough... so, if your army is bigger than your top two friend's collections, you can stop...

It's only 'enough' when your wallet runs dry.
