yeah, i know, i'm 10 years late to the party but i just found out about the old official 40k movies gw put out back in the mid 90's and figured i'd post them here for others. lol, they make the scifi saturday movies like aztec rex look like big budget extravanganzas!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0XNf0G5ugs&feature=related
i'm guessing their budget was probably the equivalent of 3000pts worth of space marines at retail!

An interesting "film" to be sure. This is why we need CG.

Oh my god... The dialogue was soooo awful. I could barely watch it. No way I'm watching the others. The costumes were amazing though.

That short film has been around for a very long time. I recall seeing that being played at Games Day Baltimore '95 or '96.

Why oh Why did you make me remember this movie. I tried to place this thing way back in the far depths of my brain some where never to be found again. As Jihan: said we need CG immediately for this type of film, something like the cut scenes in Dawn of War II would be nice.

Actually I quiet liked it.
Not as good as real movie, but some of the costumes were good.

We must never let this fall into the hands of Saban, lest we have to deal with Mighty Morphin' Space Marines.
I almost want to see the others to give them the MST40k treatment...

From everyone else's comments maybe I am not so bummed that my sound isnt working at the moment!
Like I have said for ages, they need to hire a team of crack animators to do a sweet series or film and put it on cartoon network. That would bring in loads of new business and be awesome for us.

There are no "others". Inquisitor and the 2 previews were done as promo work for GW to test the waters. The 2 movies "previewed" were never made and never actually planned to be made.

I saw that one on a local tournament a few years back. Sure, it's bad, but I'll bet it wasn't expensive and to be honest, the 40k setting is rather campy to beginn with anyway.

Did any of you ever see "Damnatus" ?( I think thats what it was called ) It was a live action, 40k fanfilm, it was sposed to be pretty good, made in Germany I think. I saw a few clips from it, it looked ok. The story was, if I recall, that GW was somehow able to quash it, I remember there being a petition to let it show at a film fest or something. I once tried to download it but I only got the first few minutes, and no sound.

Its out there on the web if you look hard enough, but trust me on this, it's not worth looking for.

Ive seen it. And Damantus looks amazing. Its not a good move but not bad either. What I would like to see is an High Quality Animated 40k Series. But not CGI. CGI + Anything = Craptacular. Toy Story Did it well, now it seems everyone is trying it to make a quick buck.
