I personally use Zap A Gap and the GW plastic glue.
Zap a gap works really well (from my meager experience) in binding metals, but you have to be careful as it stick to everything (skin especially)
As for color scheme if you have the game Dawn of War, there is an army painter and you can see what colors look like on regular IG, or you can search the gallery here to see different DKoK armies (if there are any) and get ideas from that. Otherwise you could get a bunch of paints and try schemes on test models that you won't use for gaming. If you don't have test models you could always strip paint from a figure after testing for color.
Hope this helps!

hold them in place till they stick would be the only other thing. the GW glue takes ten seconds to bind (not actually this long but I hold it in case)

resin can be tricky, 'cause sometimes you still have release agent on the minis...
wash 'em in soapy water, rinse, and dry...
too much glue is as bad as too little glue, as too much glue dries into a glop that doesn't hold...
good luck with these guys, as there is a lot of little bitz...
cheers

Zap-a-gap always works for me with a bit of Zip-Kicker if I want to accelerate it. That is what I use for everything - metal, plastic, resin, etc.
Color schemes are easy, just look up Prussian uniforms and Nazi uniforms. They are basically an amalgamation of the two. If all else fails, see if you can find the Imperial Armour book with them in it as that should, ideally, have some color schemes.
How to make them look better firing? The fact you own them should do the trick. I mean hell, that is most peoples dream to own them.
On a side note, DKOK isn't the most flattering way to represent such a cool faction. DKK is less...phallic?

Don't try plastic glue for resin, resin is not plastic. Use super glue, and wash all parts with warm water and soap before you prime them. They probably have a ton of mold release on them.

Pins help a lot find a paper clip and a small drill bit the same size and pin the parts.

Also, the Krieg guys are tricky, because the parts are moulded with non fitting edges.
For mine, I´ve used grey stuff in arm joints, and to get good fits for the backpacks. I wait till it dries, and then pull it apart, and superglue both sides of this. They stick together wonderfully like that.
Good luck with yours.
As for color schemes, if you´re going all out on krieg, you could get the "Siege Of Vraks - Part 1" book, it has lots of great color schemes.
