Thought this sounded better then "what games would you like to see?"
So, this is a very popular topic in pretty much every videogame forum ever, and since we had so much fun debatting what could be improved about Pokemon games, I thought this might be a cool idea.

I know that every gamer always has a game he really wished to get made, which will probably never happen, but it's always nice to hear other people's ideas on the topic.

The one game I always wanted to see is a good 3D Mega Man game. The series works perfect in 2D, no question here, but considering how good 3rd person shooters can be these days, I think this could turr out pretty good. I guess the hard part would be to make the shooting work and still have plenty of challenging platforming. Games like Mario, Jak, and Sly Racoon all showed how a good 3D Jump'n Run could look like, but the shooting-action should still be an important part.
One more thing, I would love to see a Mega Man game where you could combine different powers, not unlike the Card Magic in the first GBA Castlevania. For example: Beat Guts Man, get large hands for close combat, combine that with an electric weapon and you get Power Fists.

So, your ideas for a game you've always wanted to see?

I'm holding out for the next big video game breakthrough, neural interface. Instead of having to fiddle around with a bunch of buttons, which I hate, you just put a thin on your head and you're in the game. Whenever that hits the market, I'll be all over it. That or massive plasma screens with touch screen functionality. Touch where you want your guy to go and there he is. Touch an icon for a special attack or other thing in your hot bars and then touch the image of your target. It would be ridiculously expensive, since touch screens don't last as long as regular screens, but it would be so awesome. I would probably become addicted to D&D online just like everyone else I use to play old-school D&D with then.

R-Type Series....
Supposed to end at Final . But obviousely it was popular enough for the company
to make TWO more are type games after. Yet the one on xbox is nothing more than
a supernintendo remix pack ( what on earth? )

I would make a JRPG style game that featured only generic enemies, no bosses. After the game clocked 10 hours of play, the main character would die of boredom. No final boss, mini bosses, or anything besides 1 type of generic blah enemies.

Well now you've linked that topic I'll just be repeating myself, won't I?

Well, if you can count 40k as a major gaming franchise, I'd have the next warhams game be based on Apocalypse. That is, a proper realisation of FUTUREWAR. Lots of tanks, lots of infantry, Titans goddamnit! I'd like a GIANTROBOTMECHA game that isn't:

A) overly Japanese (Armoured Core)
B) overly Western (Chromehounds)
C) overly crap (All of the above)

Okay, so they're not entirely without merit. But neither of them had turbolasers or plasma destructors.

I want a new pokemon game that's not a carbon copy of the old ones and that doesn't treat me like an idiot. See the mentioned pokemon thread for details.

What i'd also love is another Def Jam game that doesn't suck. "Fight for New York" is still on my favourite games list, but i heard "Icon" was such a let-down.
I'd expand on the custom character creation aspect, so that you can fine-tune your fighting style and your "Blaze moves".
I'd get a better storyline, one that lets you make morally "wrong" choices, like betraying your friends for money or cheating on your girl. These would ultimately affect your character and how they end up at the end of the game.
Have the girls play a bigger role than just being the eye-candy and the catalyst for the end fight.
And more classic rappers! I nearly shat myself when i had to fight Flava Flav for the first time!

A Babylon 5 roleplaying game, alot like Mass Effect but add space battles in, I think it would be a major hit.

Failing that another Breath of Fire game, compared to 3, 4 & 5 sucked ass i'd love to see that series re emerge again.

Check out The Third Birthday for the PSP. You won't be disappointed.

I'm actually kind of surprised you haven't heard of it. It's the next entry in the series.

As for me? I know it's not possible with the current internet/server limitations, but I've always wanted to see a fighting game made into an MMO format. Especially if it was a continuation of another major franchise, like Tekken or Street Fighter, to have something to build off of.

I've given entirely too much thought to the idea. Imagine, a behind the back third-person perspective overworld. You initiate combat with an NPC or another player, and you get the classic fighting game VS screen. Both fighters do one of multiple poses and perhaps shout a cheesy line, fully customizable by you. Battles would play out exactly like any given fighting game. How you do in the fight (How much health you have left, how lengthy your combos were, etc.) determines how much 'XP' you get from a fight. XP would be used for everything, from increasing your roster of moves (depending on what fighting style you chose, as opposed to class), to increasing your health, to increasing the damage or speed of a given move, to giving you more 'defense' to block attacks without taking damage.

In the tradition of fighting games, there would be plenty of unlockables. Unlockable character slots, costume slots for your characters that you can customize, fighting styles, even game modes. Not only would there be a traditional 'MMO' mode, but all of the classic modes found in just about any fighting game that you could use your characters in (1v1, Survival, Team VS, etc.). I would imagine teaming or groups within the MMO would work in either a tag team or elimination format.

Trust me, I just scratched the surface. But you get the idea. Now just imagine if that had the world of Tekken to work with.

You can't tell me that wouldn't be awesome.

Def Jam Icon was actually a major step forward for fighting games in general. It actually embraced it's hip-hop roots within the gameplay by causing you to do more damage by beating the gak out of your opponent to the beat of the music. The better your rythm, the better you will do. While the storyline and customization takes a backseat to this, I think it's entirely forgiveable.

While it was a little unrefined, Icon was a brilliant game with a mechanic that hasn't seen before (even though I understand why people hate it. Def Jam players are probably used to just mashing buttons, and the rythm aspect of the game was really never made clear). If they spent more time on the game, and perhaps focused on the other parts of the game, it would be downright awesome.

Though I do vote for more rappers. I'd love to beat some ass with Aesop Rock (Though that's probably never gonna happen).

I'd ensure that games that have morality choices aren't so damned black and white.

Would it be that hard to make a good 3D Castlevania game?
Two-dimensional Castlevanias get better with every entry, Castlevania 64 and the PS2 version just aren't that great.

If Metroid works in 3D, there's no reason why Castlevania shouldn't.

I'd make MGS different. Here's the pitch:

You start off, in a darkened room. You can dimly here explosions, gunfire, the fire alarms are blaring. You push yourself up, and see you're in a lab. A guard lies by the door,
dead. You walk over, and check to make sure. After confirming your suspiscions you take his gun, a glock 9mm, and head out through a door into a hallway. You quickly encounter an enemy, smoking absent mindedly. You are given a quick rundown of how to switch views, aim, sneak, distract, fire, and reload. You are then given the choice of killing him outright, or sneaking up and interrogating, ala MGS3. After getting info, you kill/knock him out, and take his M4 carbine. You continue down the hall, and quickly run away. Too many enemies. Before you can reach the end of the hall, the ceiling bursts open, and you are crushed.

Fast forward one day later, and in a modern high school. The main character is quickly introduced, and you find out his mom was working on some govt. project. You are told to report to the office, and are promptly sent home. As you enter your house, a man tackles you. David Hader's voice booms "Stay down punk!" Bullets rake the wall, where your head had been a moment before. Snake shoves you into the kitchen where you are presented the choice of using a knife(slashing), knife(stabbing), or a nightstick(blunt).
You're then introduced to the melee combat system by Snake, and procede to fight off an enemy who grew a pair, before blacking out. You then wake up, not knowing where you are. You hear Snake "Move and I'll blow you away, Fox.'

Demo Ends. You like?

Nice concept. But if I play a Metal Gear I wanna play as Snake, not some annoying new character. Been there done that. Raiden was annoying as hell.

I would love a ShadowRun RPG. You know, NOT the piece of gak they called ShadowRun a couple years ago.

SR would actually make a pretty good MMO. Not that I like MMOs, but the setting would be great for it.

Some ideas:

1. Necromunda done up as X-com turn based tactical style.
2. Dark Heresy like Final Fantasy tactics, except grimdark.
3. Run the business into the ground because I post online too much.

If I was in charge of the next RE, I would take it back to RE4 levels of ridiculousness as opposed to making the game serious. When I was playing 5, I couldn't help but think, "Man, this is ok, but if there were lines like "You're small time, Saddler" it'd be PERFECT."

That or make SquareEnix release Front Mission 5 in the US of A.

How would you know? It's not like says anything EVER!
I haven't played Left 4 Dead yet, but as far as I know, they don't make clear where the Zombies come from or when the game takes place. The setting of HL2 might make a crossover difficult though.

Speaking of Crossovers, I really don't see why this doesn't happen more often. I'm still waiting for that Jak & Ratchet game.
