Its not on the standard wargear list, nor can you pay to equip them. If you want Jump infantry then you need to take them as Raptors, otherwise there "super big air condition units, as the pre-Heresy equipment was big and not as effective." and even then you opponet may still have some issues with that.

Yeah, maybe they just look like jump packs to you?? The chaos back packs look like jump packs a bit.
Otherwise use them as raptors.

It's implied by them being Jump Infantry (see page 52 of the Warhammer 40,000 5th edition rulebook).

The pack that come with Chaos Marines aren't jump packs. They are the backpacks that power their armor..what you are seeing is exhaust vents, not atual jump pakcs..there is a huge difference between the models.

Except for one really, REALLY, embarrassing bit of artwork in the old Slaves to Darkness expansion which showed Chaos Renegades using their backpacks as jump packs. But that was back in the Rogue Trader days.

Guessing that was done by an artist that only had a vague grasp of the fluff?
He made the same mistake as eraser.

In defense of the picture from the book, I think the fluff might have been a bit *confused* at the time about what those backpacks were supposed to be, since in that book a jump pack was a two point upgrade that everyone could get, so all of the models and ALMOST all of the illustrations in the army lists were shown with one. I think they were retconned into being "just backpacks" when 2nd edition introduced dedicated jump troops.
I have models which to this day don't have backpacks on them because of that picture, darn it.
Although BlackDracoSLC wins the Internet for today.

In rogue trader, there is a cut away drawing for space marine armor, and what we now call the exhaust port of the backpack indeed, were tiny jump packs, less to fly like jump infantry and more to enable Marines in multi hundred pound suits of armor to not kill themselves when jumping down a short ledge. So that picture is actually accurate to the fluff out at the time.
But yeah,, killin Squats, good times.

Back in the RT days, what we now know as backpacks WERE jump packs, and what we know as jump packs were flight packs. Fun days!

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!
