http://blogs.wsj.com/independentstreet/2009/04/20/dominos-response-offers-lessons-in-crisis-management/
For those of you who have not heard, recently a youtube video popped up with two employees who decided to 'contaminate' an order for a customer. The first initial estimated damages due to this video could very well be in the millions.
Already, a new national study conducted by HCD Research using its Media Curves Web site found 65% of respondents who would previously visit or order Domino’s Pizza were less likely to do so after viewing the offending video.
News report with clips from the video.

So what are all of you're views on this? Will you still order Domino's? Are you still trusting of the people who prepare your food?

This is SO not domino's fault.
However, this is the risk you take when you eat out ANYWHERE. This can happen ANYWHERE.
The requirements for being employed in the food service industry are such that as yet unskilled kids, mentally handicapped, AND convicted criminals are able to find employment. Domino's cannot really be blamed for hiring the girl...her previous crimes where honestly not so bad that a potential food service employer would not hire her due to them. Indeed, her criminal record has nothing at all to do with the subject in the first place. It simply makes it easy to place blame, both on her and the employer that hired her.
This was two young adults pulling a prank. (not a hoax, a prank) They were wearing domino's uniforms but those domino's uniforms could have EASILY been McDonalds, Taco Bell, Subway, Papa Johns, Olive Garden, or any restraunt that you can think of.
These were stupid kids causing mischief. The type of mischeif that will see them getting into some very big trouble that they deserve.
Domino's isnt to blame in the least, and their press releif on the incident showed enough concern to placate customers that are logical enough to accept reality and know this is actually the risk that all of us take when we eat out.
I've probably eaten plenty of boogers in my time thanx to disgruntled fast food employees. As fast food eating gamers we probably ALL have. I'm still here, at 38, with no discernable health issues. Its disgusting, but whatever.
All this talk about eating contaminated food is making me hungry....wheres my domino's number?

I can't see the video or article from work, but I think I know the gist. This kind of thing goes on all the time. I was watching on TV just the other night where a pizza deliveryman was caught on tape opening a pizza box and shaking his dandruff onto the pizza. YUMMY!!
Also when I was in highschool I worked for a fast food joint, and there were all the time people dropping bruger patties on the ground, and they were too lazy to make another burger. I.E. They would just pick up the burger patty and just put it on the bun anyway. Some of the guys used to use the kethcup sqeeze bottles to write cusswords on the inside of the bun. That's not a health violation but it's an example of the mentality.
EDIT: I think if managment put video cameras in all of their stores/kitchens, and made sure that the employees knew that they were being "watched" This may make the workers think twice before they did the things we hear about. One of the grossest things was the guy in Orlando that was putting his own "secret sauce" onto pizzas.

Meh. Cast iron stomach here.
Besides, if it's before the Pizza is cooked, there should be little danger. Still disgusting though.

Honestly, I will never order from Dominos again. Not that I really did so all that much beforehand anyway... But still. That's absolutely disgusting, and any place that would hire people like that obviously needs to re-think their hiring policies. Bleh. I think it's mostly just the trauma though. He had the cheese in his nose! HIS NOSE, I SAY!!!

I've known about this for awhile, and I think I may order some Domino's tonight. I haven't ate pizza in forever!
What's worse though, is that they made a video and that's why they got caught. Most of the times employees don't have videos of them doing stuff to your food. I'd like to see some statistics of how many people have actually gotten contaminated food. It might be higher than you think.

Dominos has repeatedly sent me out of date food (sauces, etc) in the past and I actually got sick from eating there once about 8 years ago. After that I stopped getting food from them. Subway is the other one with very low standards locally and I'll only eat at subways where I know the staff also eat.

I wonder if the customers did somthing to provoke this? I always though it was an age old bit of knowlege that if you were rude to the waiter/order taker that you would get a little somthing extra with your food.
They were dumb idiots to film it though.

Eh. Dominos over here actually isn't bad. No where near Zeffereli's, but good enough for parties.

I only bother with Domino's or Pizza Hut when I'm out on the town. I have a small-time but high-quality pizza place just a minute's walk up the road.
But damn, that chocolate lava cake that Domino's do is SO GOOD.

Luckily for me, the philly burbs are loaded with good pizza places. Hell there's one spot in my town that has 5 all within a 1 block radius of each other, and they all do well. Drexel Hill folks just love their pizza I guess. You just gotta find a nice "mom & pop" shop where you can tell they take pride in what they serve.

My fave in the Philly suburbs is Tonelli's in Horsham. Several years ago, the Donato's Pizza chain opened a place within yards of Tonelli's. They built a new building and everything. Well, they couldn't compete with Tonelli's, and ended up shutting down within a couple years. Adding insult to injury, Tonelli's ended up moving into the building that Donato's occupied and ended up with a nicer location with a full bar, etc. Gotta love it when the Mom & Pop gives the corporate chain an ass-whuppin'.
