Supposedly they are moving to a new physical location and putting up a new website. The plastickrack site is still there so its probably just a temporary thing

I've been trying to order for a couple weeks.

I just happened to find this store last night while searching through the forums and noticed today when trying to show it to a friend that the website was gone. Very disappointed because I was looking forward to making some purchases at such great prices. Hope to hear something about it soon.

Those jerks still owe me 10 Terminators. It's been over 4 weeks now.

Oh, and last time I called they were having trouble finding my order since they were transferring their computer system. That was about 2 weeks ago.

I just heard that the owners were found dead in the gutter, beaten to death with a Space Marine codex and 'From Jervis' branded on their foreheads.

Thought for the day: Don't try and break contract with GW.

In the USA, you don't have to have a direct GW contract to get GW product wholesale, there are other distributors here. I think that is part of why GW US has the weird and sale stifling restrictions on how stuff can be sold (or not) on the internet.

I'll give 3 to 1 odds that they are gone. You can move a store in 24 hours. Done it several times. And moving doesn't mean you bring down a website. We wait a few weeks and see.

I bet Jervis is still trying to wipe thier blood off his greedy hands. He certainly didn't want people not buying whole boxes.

I helped him move into the new site. He's had to change internet providers, et al so they should be back up soon.

I would avoid these guys at all costs. The prices are low for a reason, they have no Customer service and Nate often screws up the orders. I gave up trying getting the bits I ordered.

I have to say I ordered from them a few months ago, and was very well served. I actually got more than what I asked for.

Yeah, I'll chime in to on the positive side and say that I got a pretty fantastic deal through Nate with no real problems. I'm looking forward to his site being back up so I can get me some IG Valks at a steep discount.

As some one who has moved a game shop I know the crazy amount of stuff that takes. Granted he should have had some help or possibly planned a bit better to handel his on line stuff. Its his ball of wax and he unltimately responsible BUT, Hes always done well by me. He has even jumped through some hoops he really did not have to in order to get my stuff to me when the shipping issues poped up! I will be doing business with im again.

"Wait a few weeks"?

He should be up within days!

And he should have notified his customers of any planned interruption, giving alternate / new contact path.

If he is a real business concern, that is...

In the mean time, I wonder how people are doing on orders placed.

If I had placed an order, and suddenly, there wasn't any contact, I'd be pretty pissed...

For what it's worth I ordered from him once and for the price I can't complain one bit. Got my stuff, just didn't arrive in 2-3 days, however I never expected it to and for that price it can take a month for all I care.

This topic has motivated me to stop lurking and finally join Dakka Dakka. I want to advise everyone to order from Bitkingdom with Caution. I ordered from them in February and still have not received my order. I have sent numerous emails and actually had two phone conversations with Nate and still have not received my order. He has always been pleasant and apologetic, but that only goes so far. So be careful.

Make of it what you will, but not taking orders (officially) after a few weeks of unofficial black out isn't exactly encouraging.

I just ordered from Nate on Monday and ordered one of his Plastic Krack deals not too long ago. What unofficial black out are you referring too. He also posted an update on his Plastic Krack website a while ago about the changes coming soon so it's not like he just went away.

Nate's been around for a long time, why would he be gone? He just said hes moving to a new shop and putting up a new website and ordering system.

PanamaG - Nate was the one who taught me and introduced me to the game and I'm grateful for that so I just hate to see people say that he's dead or something that was mentioned in this thread and other threads.

I'm still learning about the game and don't know a whole lot but I know enough to get by so I don't know what value I would be in the other parts of the forum yet but I'm trying to learn.

A Personal Message From Nate Slater

Monday, April 20, 2009

Dear Bit Kingdom Gamers,

Many of you know that Bit Kingdom is my life and gaming is my passion. The support you've given me since I first I started Bit Kingdom back in February of 2008 has been extraordinary.

I've served thousands across the world and it's been nothing but amazing. The friendships I've made, the gamers I've connected with and the experience has been a dream come true.

With your support Bit Kingdom has grown from a small Ebay Store to a retail hobby shop and gaming facility in my hometown of Omaha, Nebraska.

I have recently moved to a new retail location to accommodate the rapid growth. I've also been implementing a new website, ordering and customer support system to handle the increased orders and rapid growth.

This has taken time away from assisting you and providing you with the best possible service I once gave you and this I can't live with.

To remedy the problem I'll be putting a hold on all new orders while I finalize the move to the new hobby store and gaming facility while I put the finishing touches on the new website, ordering and customer support systems.

I'm sorry to say that Bit Kingdom will be down for 1 to 2 weeks and I will not be accepting any new orders during this 1 to 2 week period.

When the new Bit Kingdom is ready to go you'll experience guaranteed fast shipping, customer support and a wider product selection among many other things.

People have been reporting difficulty in ordering things. It was short hand. There's a certain lack of professionalism that is apparent.

Being in business for yourself is never easy. And especially now, a lot of people are faltering. Worse if a business is based on discounting and doesn't have a high profit margin.

My guess would be that juggling a move, low cash, and a faltering economy are all intersecting at once. (Not an excuse that should be used for why any customer hasn't gotten his stuff, just a guess about what is going on, based on what many other retailers are going through.) A business based on discounting product has to have a very high rate of turnover, so that volume makes up for the low profit per item. Any time such a business ceases taking orders it means either 1) Business is so insanely good they can pause their cash intake to move to larger quarters and expand ..or 2) Cashflow is down, making it tough to meet expectations of your suppliers, and cutting off your supply of goods. (GW doesn't let anyone go beyond their terms of sale. Don't pay a bill on time, and it's going to be difficult to get more product.)

So if they come roaring back, ship out any backorders, and get back to business better than ever, then it's door #1.
If they continue to have troubles and people have trouble getting back orders, it's more likely #2.

Never easy running a game store. We just had a local one announce they are closing in a week. So if you like your store, buy now, and buy often!

This is Nate from Bitkingdom. No we are not going out of business. We are staying put just like the letter on my website states. I have sent out a News Letter, even posted on our forum and other websites addressing our move of operations. There is no need to worry. The same thing happened when we upgraded our first website and operations and we need to do it again.

Here is my email

Moving an entire gaming store can be tough and we’re aware of the situations and we’re working hard to improve our ordering and customer service. The website has to be taken down so we can upload and finalize everything.

As you know from various people there are orders that have been backed-ordered for some time. ETA needs be fixed. These problems are my top priority and I am working hard to fix them and they’re being taken care of.

In order for me to push forward and make these changes like I stated above and what is on my website, I need to step back and fix everything. Even Gamesworkshop themselves takes down their site out of the blue to do some changes on their site as well.

You have my word everything will be fine.

If you have any questions, concerns or comments please give me a call. I am here to answer and serve you. You’re also more than welcome to come visit our new hobby shop as I’m there everyday.

Our new Address Is: 7117 Farnam St. Unit #1 Omaha, NE 68114-68134(Gamers Building)

Thank you,

- Nate Slater

@Nate: I got a question: When are you going to take care of Stonebreaker above?

Waiting since February is more than a month and a half - that's plenty enough time for GW to send a special order by 3rd class mail, and you to re-ship by 3rd class mail.

Hello John, good to hear from you again

I hate to talk about a private order in public but since Stonebreaker has talked about it I will respond.

I honestly don’t know who Stonebreaker is but I will send him a PM.

If he’s the person I’m thinking about I offered to refund his money but he actually refused the refund and said he is willing to wait for his product.

Once I receive a PM back from him I can look him up on the back order file index and we can take care of it. The majority of back orders since then are have been shipped or are set to be refunded their money of the missing bits / sprues. In all actuality some refused the refund and said they would wait.

Hopefully this clarifies the question. And again I am here to assist so please don’t hesitate to give me a phone call.

Thanks,
Nate

I have to say I know I am a bit demanding when it comes to waiting for minis. Sometimes you just don't know what/how long the process takes, and you've already paid, and it hasn't come, and you've thought about it 967 times before emailing them for the 10th time about it... I order from another online store that I've used for sometime, but sometimes I wonder if they even want it, since I think I'm a pain in the ass when I'm in the dark about something

So just wanted to say I can understand the consternation people are feeling while they wait with questions unanswered, but also the side of the store in that they can't be superhuman, and if they're a small operation trying to save you money, certainly can't be everywhere at once

Thanks for being there to save us gamers money and for coming to reply to this thread so we know what's going on!!! I'll definitely consider you guys for my next order... after all, with prices this high, saving money is #1!

And if ETA/service improves after this site move, so much the better!!
