I have a tournament on sunday and it is currently wednesday, I have to paint almost 1300 pts of sisters of battle including 9 tanks.

I have no time to do this so i ask, what kind of spray paint can i use to quickly paint these tank? just to get an even basecoat, because that's what takes forever on these things.

any brand recommendations or anything would be greatly appreciated!

I've been using Krylon sprays and getting fantastic results. Make sure if you do, get the FLAT stuff because Satin is shiny

Also, its ridiculously cheap (4$ a can). I use the Flat Black as a primer since GW primer is stupid expensive and does the same thing that this does.

Go to your local hardware or home improvement store.
Home depot has spray for $.99+- depending on your local tax situation. It usually sits on the bottom shelf in the paint isle.

2nd the recommendation for Krylon, cheap and easy to find. I us a khaki camo color as a primer and first basecoat on my tyranids. Saves ooo so much time and is a perfect match for kommando khaki to boot.

Testors (or model masters as that is what most shops carry now IIRC) is ok but is a lot pricier imho. Just make sure to check what kind of finish (lotta sprays are gloss for the car model guys).

Wal-Mart color place is pretty good stuff too and cheap. Tamiya are nice on the higher end as well as Duplicolor from the my specialized autopart stores.

Go for quality! It's almost $7, but Tamiya's spray paint will get an even, high quality coat on your minis.

Tamiya handles completely differently from anything else you've ever sprayed. Work it FAST, or it will start running. Once oyu get used to how it works, it's great!

I second that! I used the Blazing Orange to Paint my Black Reach Marines. Assembled and Painted ready to go in a week.

Was a little concerned at first, when its touch dry its a little soft, but hardens nicely once left

Be aware that some cheaper brands of spray *do not adhere to the plastic*. Do a test spray on a piece of sprue before you spray any model when using a new basecoat brand, or you may find yourself very disappointed.

Nuclear: Properly pronounced new-clear, not new-cue-lir. There is no 'u' between the c and l, so stop saying it because it just makes you sound like a dumbass. This includes nucleolus, and all other derivatives of the word.

A follow up question:
Do you use a primer spray and then a basecoat spray? Or just a basecoat?

Thanks

Tamiya TS 42 (a boltgun metal shade) or TS 38 (a chainmail shade) depending on how dark you want your metal midtone.

You can paint over it with foundation paints, it gets good coverage, and you should be able to get your army painted in time.
