I've had a copy of the new Codex for almost two years; what's the big deal?

(We are talking about the Chaos Space Marine codex, right?)

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

I've owned a copy of the new codex for nearly 10 years now, you're a bit late on the Space Wolf Bandwaggon mate.

Like the Chaos Space Marine codex before it if you have never owned an Imperial Guard codex before the new codex will probably be to your liking.

Those with handfuls of invalidated models will be less pleased. The book is filled with 'schoolboy errors' of missing wargear and has a terrible layout. The book fixes few of the problems with the previous codex but in fairness fixes most of the ones caused by the 5th edition rulebook. The price of 5th edition compatibility may have been too high.

Amazingly, this quote could be applied to any codex released in the last two years - DA, Orks, SM, Chaos.

You mean Any Codex released since 3rd edition (Don't believe me? Check out the huge number of errors between printings of Necron, SoB and Wolves )

They had a lot lower rate of model invalidation. Necron - none. SoB - none that I recall. Wolves - ok, the guys with 20 wolf guard in terminator armor with assault cannons and CMLs weren't happy......

Last time the Imperial Gard codex was redone I lost five models. I lost more models than that from just one of the squads I lost this time.

During 4E, I over-bought my way out of any IG models being "invalidated".

This next go, I think I can reshuffle to not invalidate much more than a handful, but I don't like it.

on a semi-realated note: The use of color on the cover works really well. The art on the front is pretty damn sweet. The purple/blue adds a strange sort of dimension to it, it works.

"I drive a big car, cuz I'm a big star. I'll make a big rock-and-roll hit." "I am a big car, and I'm a strip bar. Some call it fake, I call it good-as-it-gets."

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

WD is pretty shiny too.

So are the boobs on this Rule 34 picture of a Farseer I have.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Only a farseer? I got one of a Topless SoB "Interrogating" a Topless Farseer, or how about the Daemonette rubbing a Flash Gitz Flash on her "Squishy Bitz"...

I'll be good now...

Are Industrial Towers and Space Corridors featured in this new codex at all?

If so I'd love to know where I could get some!

this new IG Codex, while full of shiny new stuff, is badly written, and leaves enough loopholes to require a 10 page FAQ. My favourite klunker is having the MoO scatter in the direction of the arrow on a "hit" scatter dice roll. Pardon me? I see no arrow on a hit scatter dice. So how does one detetrmine direction on a "hit" roll?

HAHAHAHAHA!

Wait wait.... pfffft HAHAHAHAHAH!

The Hit side has a Small Arrow on it, and it ALWAYS HAS. It's been used since at least 2nd edition (never played RT) and there has always been some sort of weapon that scattered on a hit. You might want to revise your "favourite klunker" there.

So much for 'Godly MoO,' since all of his templates are auto-miss buttons.
