Thats a rather vague question.
What conversion kits? What tanks? There are a ton of conversion kits of various types, and I guess you mean IG.
EDIT: ah, and I guess the "Seriously? Don't you want to use some punctuation and capitalization?" warning didn't stop you.

Let me tell you,
I, that is to say we
the Canadians,
kill ourselves trying
out new ways to make
a question we post
easy to read and a
real pleasure to interpret.
Obviously, it makes us
sick when one of us
yet again gets up and
spells out his question
to the world without
even thinking about
minor elements of basic
spellchecking or punctuation.

Forgeworld does not fit into any definition of "cheaper".

Bit crunchy though (although some bits were decidedly chewy).
I prefer a nice wagyu steak, myself. A little cheaper, but superior in terms of flavour.

Unlikely.
The artillery pieces are a bitch to put together on a good day, and once they're in, they're in. Trying to move it in and out to replace with a Basilisk probably won't work.

dareaper - I'm waiting for delivery of one of the complete Medusa kits (the one without the vannaheim shield) from FW. To my knowledge the conversion kits come with only the resin pieces. So for the Medusa it'd be a basilisk kit that doesn't need the basilisk gun pieces. Therefore you'd need a basilisk/chimera kit lying around to make the medusa. The complete hydra tank kit - which I think in principle is similar - they give you a standard GW chimera, and then resin pieces for the 4 autocannons and the targetting turret.
