Such good stuff this week!

Here's a shelf with books that have been sitting at my parents' house for over a decade that I'm finally working on getting out of there.

Since the subject of old Eldar came up in the MEdge thread, I thought it was only fitting to include one for Flashback Friday:

As well as another angle of my Chaos Dreadnought armor, since it is already uploaded in the gallery:

Speaking of old books, I've got this one:

It was outdated even by the time I purchased it over a decade ago, but I love this one despite not being a fan of the Fantasy verse.

miniatures have come. Might also hint as to what drew us to the
game to begin with.

I love this thread so much

I can finally contribute something though.

I'm getting ready to base and paint my old Rogue Trader solitaire and use him in my Harlequin army. He is armed with Harlequin kiss and uh...las pistol

I can't afford too much with GW's prices today so I'm pressing him into service. He'll be better though as he isn't on top of a rock so he'll be harder to draw LOS to.

I grabbed this guy and a handful of other minis from a thrift store many years back. Best .50 cents I ever spent

Wowee. Oh boy, Im trying to recall my 2nd ed rules and figure out who would win this one.
Combat the Marines definitely have the edge, that Chaplain and Captain will potentially carve through a tonne of IG.
Not to mention if the Libby gets something like the Gate, Ironarm or Vortex.
But the IG armor and firepower is impressive.

Good times. I can't even imagine the amount of Datafax rolling you had to do for that game. It was bad enough with a bike squadron of 5. When one got shot it inevitably went out of control, collided with another which went out of control and exploded. Another ended up flipping upside down and exploding. Glorious! It was just carnage

Disappointed that they didn't at least field one of the classic land raiders. Though, I used to love looking at Kim Syberg's Space Wolves which included the classic Rapier and Tarantula (They're hidden on the hill on the left)

Well, since we're sharing White Dwarf scans, how's these:

This was, and still is, one of the best battle reports you'll ever read. White Dwarf 154, Squats V Orks, was the best in my opinion with this one a very close 2nd. I couldn't find any WD 154 scans unfortunately. I may have to do WD review one day. Perhaps for a milestone post at some point. And here's my homage to that battle report:

It was one hell of a battle, a prettty iconic battle report IMO, one of the things that sucked me into the hobby. Damn White Dwarf used to be good.

I remember they had a specific caveat mentioning that model was for Expert Modellers Only and it involved advanced techniques. After assembling one of their metal Land Speeders I always felt sorry for anyone who bought one of those.

Heliodore, it looks Freakin AWESOME!!!!!

Awesome that thunderhawk, there was one chap that used to bring one to my local GW back in the day, I went three weeks on the trot and each time I saw it, he was in the process of "fixing it", I swear he was putting a wing back on or securing some such part non stop I reckon !!

YEP! All metal. My old boss used to have one at the store I worked at and it was really cool to look at. It wasn't assembled, but it came in a cool wooden box.

Wow... metal Thunderhawk. Most impressive. I remember when they first showed them off, and the big "Entire Ultramarines Chapter" they did for that one Games Day in the UK. That army had three of those Thunderhawks.

The best part was the 5 Deathwing Terminators who took on an entire flank by themselves, ripping up three Russes in close combat.

@General Kroll: Hehe, yeah me too! I knew back then I wanted it, but I knew I'd never have the money nor did I have the know-how to actually build it. Fast forward fifteen years or so and I decided it was now or never to take the plunge into getting one before they became insanely rare and expensive.

@SlaveToDorkness: Thank you, it only took a month of consistent work! Yeah, I had to do some special things in order to get it the way I wanted!

@Rayvon: Yup, I've heard stories like that before, this kit has so many structural hot spots, and the instructions do give you pointers, but not enough in my opinion. I pinned almost every piece, using 4 different widths of brass rod throughout, and 3 different types of adhesive depending on the amount of stress each join was subjected to. It's all in my thread for anyone who is interested!

@bbb: Yes, great pics, the presentation really gave you the feeling that GW took this kit seriously and wanted whoever bought one to do the same. Funny enough, my kit did not come with a box, and from what I could garner from the previous owners it never did, which means it was probably a prize sample or something.

Yeah. Just eyeballing it, but it smells like a 2000 point game of Space Marines vs IG!

I have about 30 of these dudes sitting in a bag, waiting for some paint, but I don't know what i want to do with them! Mine are still blue plastic, and are just the bolter dudes and missile launcher guys.
