I'd love to have that guy, but not at that price.

Yeah... But if the rumor that there will only be 50 at each store is true, it means finding him any cheaper will be all but impossible.

<shrug> I'll make do without him.

GW likes to promote the limited edition panic buy. Pay an arm now, rather then an arm AND a leg later to e-bay scalpers. It's still to much for a single mini. I covet this guy. He's hitting all my nostalgic buttons. But I'm going to vote with my wallet on this one and pass. GW sets an unreasonable price on SM HQs, and I won't enable them. Will they still sell out? Probably. But not with my help.

Part of me wants it... but for $59NZD (so probably $50-55AUD) and only available in store in limited quantities... eh.

It looks cool, though. If I did ever get around to making a CF army it'd look nice next to the 25th Anniversary Captain, too...
But nah, too much.

50 in each store means about 10,000 of these guys world wide. That doesn't seem that limited. Edit update from faeit. Model will be €25 or free with purchases over €130 euros. So buy a couple of start collecting boxes and this together.

I really like that model. Could be an awesom Blackshield for 30k.

I kinda dislike it as I have no love for old school RT Space Marines, but at the same time, I want it. Hmmm..

Really nice model but as a stand alone, not sure I can find a place for it in my collection.

I will buy two and sell one on ebay for scalping prices. Because why not

Well... I already have six of the original one, and this one doesn't really make me want to run to the store.

Plus, that prices are nuts.

I'll get one if he can be bought online, otherwise it depends on when I get back from Salute whether my GW has any left.

I believe the weapon will have combi-melta rules (With multiple melta shots perhaps? combis weren't always single-use) and rules for the Bayonet.

Would make a nice Chosen squad leader, if he can be suitably Chaosed up (and btw I don't think the fist emblem is sculpted on, I think the circle the emblem is painted on is raised)

I have to be honest here, I've enjoyed some of the homage minis, the CF captain, the BA sergeant with power fist, but this one doesn't really grab me.

Maybe its the price point that is so jarring.

£18. Hmmm, though he does look pretty sweet. Would look excellent in my 30k force.

Ahh, sod it, I'll take one.

So, was the RTB01 availability just wishlisting or does it still have any weight?

This is one expensive miniature. I hope there is at least a nice box/art/poster included. Otherwise 12 EUR would have been a lot more reasonable.

The pic says 'available at the webstore that weekend' and rumors (Faeit) say he will be free with orders over 130 EUR?

So you buy two start collecting boxes at the GW webstore, undiscounted but with free shipping. The same 25-26 EUR for the miniature we would otherwise save buying at a store with a 15-20% discount? Sounds okay but I'm still not convinced.

Going to a store? Nope. 25 EUR plus gas to the next store (50 minute drive) with the chance of not getting one is not what I would call a proper celebration of 30 years of Space Marines.

Come on, GW, you can do better

That rumor came from BOLS' sources so it sadly wasnt to happen

Scanning through the NZ GW webpage the only single figure that is $59NZD is a white scars commander. The armour through the ages set of 5 is $64NZD. The more ornate single clam packs are $48NZD. I am by no means naive and I am aware of companies' lack of morality, but unless there is something very off it would seem odd to make it that high. Are we sure this is clam pack? If not then maybe the talk of a sprue of mini's recreate RTB01 may be true. Is this a five mini set? I doubt we could get that lucky, but with the amazing bargains we have had with Deathwatch Overkill and the Start Collecting boxes, I just wonder whether this may be a bit of a Transformers situation (more than meets the eye). Happy for everyone to completely disagree, but just wanted to make sure all outcomes considered.

I shall go quietly back in the corner and wait and see what actually happens.......

Great looking mini! I'd still only pay $18 max for him though..

The problem with GW trying to sell LE space marine models is that the versatility of their plastic sets mean you can pretty much build anything you want from your bitz box. Sure this guy is gonna be harder but I accept the challenge!

Ehh... I prefered the other CF one I think. I doesn't scream to me "exclusive". It just looks like another standard front line troop. We'll have to see.

Very nice veteran, but- ha! That price. Just... who do they think they are? I mean, that doesn't even have the draw of being a centerpiece model where I could see people buying one. You can buy a FW marine squad for not much more, if you need your nostalgia fix.

I'm not saying it's not expensive, but isn't it the same price as all the other SM clam pack characters? It's ridiculously priced, but it's not a surprise.

As I pointed out that earlier it is expensive, but it is free with orders over £100. The price by the way is the same as the recent space wolf characters.

Which are just as silly in terms of price.

What isn't clear though is that if this guy is true remake, he is also tiny. The wolfs at least have the benefit of being modern large sized marines, this guy, if hes like the original, has a head height that reaches about as high as the nipples on my sanguinary guard.
