Fully loaded trukk, always a joy.

Looking back at your Big gunz, what do you use for your basing? All be them square, they're excellent!

Looks nice. Out of curiosity, do you have a before picture? It would be interesting to see your point about complexity illustrated.

I managed to steal this image out of Cam's archives....

Now in this image, the trukk looks pretty darn good, but there's no blue apparent here, just the red & the white/yellow. I think something as simple adding kind of a medium dark blue to some of the panels really threw it off. I know Cam wasn't happy about it, which is why he gave it to me. My plan is to paint a decent number of panels my standard yellow. Add some bronze/copper/brass (one, not all three) as an alternate metal color & then perhaps some rusty plates here and there. Then some weathering & chipping of course. That way I vary things enough to be interesting... but not distracting. Now, to be fair... I don't think the orks would give a darn if the colors were coordinated or not... but as the secondary artist I'd like the model to be aesthetically pleasing when complete.

You have just helped me a lot Gits :-) I was contemplating my own trukk and trying to work out how to add some spark to it without spending weeks on the brush but still make it visually exciting, seeing you have a crack at yours has cemented my own plans which was prime metal and paint just the outside panels in camo/hazard stripe with heavy chipping and some dust around the wheels and lower parts. it actually looks good somewhat coherent in scheme even though Orks are radical.

Finally got a chanced to work on the trukk again. As you can see here, the first part of the process was to solidly establish the Bad Moon "brand" on the trukk. There will me more colors and some details later, but I want anyone who sees the trukk to be able to easily recognize its pedigree.

Are you going to be differentiating the metals with tarnished brass, coppers, bronze and or rusts? Right now it looks a bit too much like a brick of cold iron.

@wyfox: Yeah, that was my observation as well. More to do yet, just getting started.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Copper plumbing pipe frames are now all properly copper. I toyed with the idea of making the white PVC with the purple glue-set sticking out of the joints, but I'll save that for the next one. Anyway, you're starting to see it break up a bit. Next metal will do even more.

Next steps:

Certain things have certain colors in my world... one is diamond plate. Always a little shinier than regular metal. Here you can see the diamond plate on the model that I've picked out. It's not as super shiny as it would really be as I don't think that looks very good, but it does add a clear second color to the plates & some of the exhaust pipes. Also decided that all of the trukk teef would be uniformly white-based. Did some touch-ups here and there too.

Hope to get this wrapped up by Friday, then on to the next project!

It's a trukk. It only has one gun and I said I was working on that. Be patient...

It’s a start. But we all know about Dakka and “enough"

What gun options do trucks have anyway?

Surely a mek of your caliber can get some more dakka on there. Is that an old RT ork with the rocket? Or did they make newer ones with that look?
