Mostly, on my phone.

Agreed, it looks amazing! Are there other aegis type elements to go with, or is it indeed more of the same to come?

Random project that just demanded painting this evening...

Nice work! I know exactly what you mean. I'm that way with my builds. I have at least a dozen different projects in various stages because I'll be happily working away on a conversion and suddenly get the urge/inspiration/manic idea to work on something else and the project I was working on gets shelved. I have a couple of projects that have been sitting on my shelf for nearly four years. And a Millenium Falcon conversion that has been shelved (boxed) for something like ten or fifteen years. So many projects, so little time.

Thanks Cam, it's just a standard GW affair. Added some grass which ties it all together nicely.

I absolutely didn't understand what you said above you picture , but the barricade looks orkish, and that's all what matters.

@Minus: "standard GW affair" means that it's not my build, but something I purchased from GW.

GW sells (sold?) a set of Imperial wall sections/barricades as well as an ork set. This is one section from the ork set. They aren't intended to be aegis wall variants... they're just bits of terrain. I have both sets, but this particular piece was something I snagged when a local FLGS went out of business.

I think stuffing tufts of grass and such along the base and crevices really makes a big difference.

Oh no, I know this barricade was made by GW.

I meant this sentence :
"Sometimes... dat whut needs paintin' jess grabbs yer by da nardlies & says "Git wiff it ya git!" "

And yup, the grass was a great addition to it, makes it look more convincing.

I like the way this one turned out. I may have hunt around and see if I can find my set so I can work on the rest.

Seems odd that orks would have barricades? for such a fight hungry species hiding behind some wreckage just seems weird to me.

Nah, that's the "Kunnin', but Brutal" side of Ork kulture. Sometimes you gotta hide and wait for your opponent to come to you.

Quite true. I painted the imperial ones for a friend a few years ago. Actually, both these barricade sets were pretty good value given how nice they look once done. But yeah, adding some connecting bits with the rest of the table, even if it's just two tufts or something, makes quite a difference.

The 'bots look really nice as well!

Agreed. I actually find myself trying to scale back a bit on the amount of greenery I use on my model bases... it's kind of like weathering or rust... once you get going it's hard to stop & before you know it you've overdone it.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I haven't looked at the model yet so I'm not sure how the build will go. I'd like to make the arms detachable so I can switch them out & if the rules allow... will build a belly gun for it. I have an idea for a clever way to do the arms, but I won't know for certain if I can do it until I see how the model is put together.

I had the most entertaining game of 40k last night... more fun that I've had in a long time. When it was over... only the gretchin and a solitary dakka jet pilot had survived!

If you don't own orks, find a buddy... go out and get some, split them up and beat the living snot out of each other! There's nothing more fun, more "40k"... than two clans of orks trying to kick each other's teeth in!

My opponent took pics, so when he posts them, I'll re-post them here & give you a mini-bat rep while I'm at it.

That seems like it would be a great campaign... each player follows one ork as he goes from a Nob to a Warboss, etc.

Well, it IS sort-of a campaign. One of the guys is running an Apoc campaign based on IA's "Raid on Kastorel Novum" and the ork players have decided the the Big Boss for the year is going to be decided by a series of 1500 pt "clan blattles" for supremacy within the ork horde. So we fight each other, 1500 pts, 1 CAD, same mission each time. Person with the most points leads the Waaaagh.
