So someone was in my fortress... And got themselves blown up by a creeper at my front door, thanks for the free stuff.

i just asked if i could join the server, when i go online i will help the creeper defense and would like a place to stay until i get a base operational.

I was just at work on my thing on the server and it's scary when you are the only person on it. So alone.

Yeah, well when alone I can skip the night and avoid a lot of hassle thankfully.

Damn i was just explorins the spleef arena when the next thing i heard was fffffffffsssssssst BOOM then i lagged out so i dont know how bad the damage is

My holidays have ended so I can really only log on on the weekends now (for the other Aussies the server does indeed lag, but at around 1-2am, for me at least, there is no lag).

I'm thinking it needs pressure plates for the doors placed on the inside of it, this way the door isn't left open tempting the Creepers anymore. As a reminder until the lighting is under control in Dakka town, or around the arena more, do not run around the outside of the arena at night or day break without checking for Creepers. All the lighting for the arena is lava, if a Creeper blows a hole in the side it's likely that there will be lava everywhere. I have however ensured that there are no trees around the arena in case of accidents so nothing should suddenly burn down because of it. Just don't plant any trees near it and it should be all good.

How about just fencing around the buildings with wooden doors to get through?

Creepers can't get past the fences so it would mean a bit more security from accidentally blowing up half a building

Is there a general universal rule regarding the height and width of the highway that has been built around the sanctuary? I'm thinking about building a raised road from my gulag winter retreat to my Summer home near the Sanctuary, but I'd like to stay away from the creepers and other vermin.

Just to put it out there. There still is a griefer, A few people know who it is and I have informed the relevalent authorities.

Just don't make too big a deal about it, and move on with your life after you're done. We don't need to give the admins undue stress.

As a side note, yesterday I put down about three stacks of torches around sanctuary, it should be a BIT safer. Still have to worry about the nearby buildings though, some of them are so poorly lit that creepers spawn inside of them.

Edit: It seems Mels lava moat isnt just for mobs but for players >.< I was lookin for a new base site(the place had already been taken by mel) and so was lookin around and my shift key didnt work so fell straight into lava... Watch, iron sword, about 36 string, bow and 30 arrows all gone in smoke.

Edit2: Whoever made the big flaming pyramid has some repair work to do as there is now a massive hole in the top it, looks like a creeper blew it up. I only noticed this earlier.

it's my house, and the old one's being destroyed. there is a tradition of me (and my house) getting slayed because of creepers, and this is a memorial to that and the creeper menace.

You're welcome. I was playing on my laptop to see if it could handle MC with the newest updates, and it turns out that it does a pretty good job. Until the creepers see me.

Also, I don't believe I was in your fortress, just around it. There were a lot of creepers. :(

The only way that could happen is if someone did it, the server is glitching and removing blocks, OR you dont have enoough light inside and creepers are spawning inside you dome.

Underwater bases are hard to light, I wouldn't be surprised if a creeper spawned inside.

Yeah in my pyramid I have TONS of light, and creepers manage to spawn in the damn thing all the time.

These were deliberate areas missing, not creeper holes

If creepers are in water they wont destroy blocks.

If creepers are in an underwater room they will.

Still, these were areas of single blocks, pairs of blocks, or 2x2 sections removed all over

When your boat flies into the air along with the squids, you know something is awry.

Torches really are the best way to stop mobs from spawning in your home. light it well, light it often.

Why do people insist on using lava when they are NOT evil overlords? One faulty piece of wall and they are killed by their own lighting source!

I do wonder, are jack-o-lanterns a safe form of lighting?

Until the griefing stops, I may just leave my dome as is, but with more light. And there was glass missing from the very top, which points to human hands breaking it, as well as no floor blocks broken. Also, there is some sort of area built next to my dome, esentially it looks like the broke through and put a torch underwater in an air pocket
