You need to ROTATE your pictures before you upload them.

"I.. I know my time has come" Tethesis said with a gasp, a torrent of blood flowing from his lips.
"No! Hang on brother!!" Altharius could feel the warmth slip away from his dear sibling's hands

Tethesis's reached out his bloodied arm to Altharius's face.
"I..I have one final request"
Altharius leaned close to listen, tears welling in his once bright eyes.
"make sure th..they put my soulstone in a tank... it'll be... real fethin' cool"
"Yes, you're gonna be the most fethin' cool tank!!" burning hot tears streaked down Altharius's face, as he held his brother's soul in his grasp.

2nd tip.

Stop with the txt msg talk.
Use full words and try to spell them correctly, too. It will probably get you more comments, too.

Sorry if it sounds harsh, but many older folks see you young'uns using the modern abbreviated text language and just tune out and ignore anything else you might have to say.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

Tip 3:

Don't take the picture from so close,it tends to show the little mistakes, take the pic from a bit futher away.

I agree, when you kids now a days start talking in the txt talk, I just turn you off. Speak real English! Especially if you are in a business situation like you are trying to get into. No one will take you seriously! Sorry, just a rant.

Don't you know, in some countries (Read here England) they allow txt speak in exams now. Including in English exams.

I would say step one would be learn to spell "commissions".

Sorry mate but i wouldnt trust a 12 year old with my models, even if he was painting them for free.

tip 4: dont state your age, if your young it always puts people off.

I agree, if he was painting them for free, it would be worse
even with my caffeine affected shaky hands, i can pull off a better paint job then that easily
and im 13, i posted up a blog the other day for a painting service, and got bad feedback due to my age and photography skill, Postpone the idea until your about 16-17 like i am doing!
People wont trust you for your age and prices, this was my potent price list:

Isn't 4 pounds a little cheap for painting, I guess I have no idea on what to charge with commission painting.

Although, I did charge around $50AUS for this Ghazkhull Thraka.
Is that fair?

I think that's fair for the Ghazkhull (Uruk) Thraka. It's a really nice job -- I like the rust.

Well, it depends on the standard. Chicken, not being mean or anything, but I would expect that as very sub-par for the very competitive commissions market. You need some more practice, but you're getting there. I'd say stay out of it for a few years, like Loki.

Augh. never ever say anything is related to the matrix. I hate you now.

On another note to be polite, try to make your models atleast work well on the table top. Granted there might be times where I would by a fig for just the paint job and cool pose never intending to use him for table top games. But if your just selling a mairne or so Give him the options people want. A power sword and plasma pistol would go over alot better then 2 pistols.

Another thing is pick out the edges of the armour. he looks far to basic.

Sorry to be dovetailing it, but I'm 12 and I won silver in a painting contest after I'd been painting 6 months, and everyone else were at least double my age and been painting for several years. I've now been painting a year, and you still won't trust me with your minis.

I know. I'm evil.

Got a pic of said winning model? At any rate no I don't think id trust you with my models anyways even if you won a gold demon. Just the idea of giving my models to some one under the age of 13 just makes me think im going to lose them. I was a kid. I know what I was like at 12 XD.

Yes, that's the point. It's not how good you are, it's the responsibility of the models.

Fair point, but it's not just about the ability - it's about the head on your shoulders, and your legal culpability if something happened

I don't believe this for a second. I finished school five years ago with an 'A' in English. Any text speak would have been crucified, and I'm sure it's the same now. Text speak is the refuge of the dumb; if I read a single 'lol' I tend to dismiss people as slowed.

Edit: Also, seeing as nearly every English UK student studies Shakespeare at some point, how would someone include txt speak in that?

At the risk of completing the derailment of this thread, txtspk IS allowed in exams but only under certain conditions. If you are writing a piece that is about a modern exchange of words and you state that somebody sends a text, you can then use txtspk in that context. Any other situation will result in a massive loss of marks due to poorly and incorrectly composed sentances. You can write in txtspk in any exams, but you WILL annoy your examiner!

One of my best mates is an English examiner.... And yes, he sheds a tear every time he marks a paper where some complete numbnuts writes in a standard essay using text abbreviations.
