Subject: New Guard codex... How does it affect DKoK lists?

Just out of curiosity, does DKoK list-building change any with the new IG codex? I haven't read it yet. In fact, I just bought it earlier tonight. I have heard a lot of things from a friend, though, and it seems that it would affect the DKoK rules in IA:Siege of Vraks. Is this the case? Is anything rendered useless by the new Guard book? Does anything change?

Sorry, just wondering how much metal your hobby case can hold.

Nothing changes. No matter what you do, or how you adjust your list, if you're fielding DKoK you win a moral victory by default simply by having more awesome models than the other guy.
@Ungulateman: It isn't that bad. With some help from bartertown and ebay (although FW was still the major source), I've amassed a little over 100 FW DKoK models and it only cost me a few hundred dollars. No big deal.

Death Korps are resin, hurr durr.
DKoK are all about heavy weapons and artillery right? They'll be fine. Just take heavies in Infantry squads but not in teams, because they're not durable enough.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Well, no Die-Hards, Iron Discipline and no WS 4. If you want a "real" Krieg army just use the army list provided in IA 5 and 6.
Let the whining begin.

FW have said they have plans to release a pdf updtae for the DKoK and ( I think) the Elysians too in the future. I'd guess maybe around the release of the next IA book perhaps ?
The Elysian one I'm not so sure about as AFAIK they and orks are the featured armies in the following IA book, so maybe they'll fold that update into that possibly ?

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

The Elysian book won't be out for another year at the very least as we've got Vraks coming up first.

In any case, the answer to the OP is 'slim to none'. You just use the rules in IA5 and 6, and where it says "See Codex: Imperial Guard", see the Guard Codex, and where it doesn't, don't.
Easy.
