THIS IS REALLY ANNOYING!

The Automatically Appended Next Post was added to prevent endless bumping and spam. I'm not legoburner so I'm not %100 sure, but a post immediately after your previous post of a specific length or less will automatically attach itself to your previous post instead of making a new post.

Agreed,it was a feature added to stop pointless spam threads.

Give it a day or wait until someone replies to you before you bump your post.

I kind of like it.

i posted this before i knew what it was for.

Its best for short one liners or short paragraphs. But if someone posts about 100+ words and wants to start a new second post to emphasises they are talking about something different or addressing a second person then auto-append can be a real pain.

I made a post and when i finished it I realised someone had made a small post after mine. I quoted their post and saida short reply before hitting enter. When I looked at the topic however my latter post and his had become one, with my quoting of his post being automatically appended into his post.

Could you link to it please, that obviously should not be happening.

Quotes are fgood in some circumstances, but sometimes to show a complete change of pace a new post is whats needed. Its like the difference between a new paragraph and a new chapter. They are not one and the same.

It is a race condition which rarely occurs, but is going to take quite a big rewrite to fix, so for now I'm going to live with it until I get round to the planned rewrite of that part of the system. Thanks for reporting but I dont need to know about anymore for now.
