Hey all. i just have a quick question about land raider sponsons. There's 2 "hardpoints" on each side. The instructions show them placed at the rear ones, but I have them on the rear. I'm construcing it as a redeemer, so A) is it better to put the flamestorms at the front, and B) is there a "proper" way to do it?

The art on the box shows both pairs are valid.

Some people like them on the front for the extra range (and not exiting the vehicle in front of them). Others prefer the back. With template weapons like the flamestorms, you're probably better to use the front ones.

My raider sponsons use the back mounts, but this is more for ease of transport than anything else (but it also allowed for custom decals on the forward hatches - "Caution: Do not stand in front of laser cannons")

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

hmm. im seriously considering moving them to the front. The sponsons are off right now, but the part that attaches to the hull is still on. i think i'll do it. it just means i'll have some damage control to do.

I always thought it was stupid to place them in the rear. What kind of military makes you embark/disembark in front of a weapon's muzzle?!?!?!?!

I place mine in the front. It also helps to shorten the range at which both sides can hit targets to the front.

There is no prize that exceeds the worth of my honor.

If you've got a very large squad on board (templars can have power armour squads that competely fill a crusader) then in can be tough to get everyone out of the front hatch.

That said, I think the front mount looks better and makes way more sense.

The fun part is getting them off. they're proving more difficult than i anticipated.

Yea, I have built 5 land raiders so far, once the sponsons are glued on, they are on.

THE HORUS HERESY: Emprah: Hours, go reconquer the galaxy so there can be a new golden age. Horus: But I should be Emprah, bawwwwww! Emprah: Magnus, stop it with the sorcery. Magnus: But I know what's best, bawwwwww! Emprah: Horus, tell Russ to bring Magnus to me because I said so. Horus: Emprah wants you to kill Magnus because he said so. Russ: Fine. Emprah's always right. Plus Ole Red has already been denounced as a traitor and I never liked him anyway. Russ: You're about to die, cyclops! Magnus: O noes! Tzeentch, I choose you! Bawwwww! Russ: Ah well. Now to go kill Horus. Russ: Rowboat, how have you not been doing anything? Guilliman: . . . I've been writing a book. Russ: Sigh. Let's go. Guilliman: And I fought the Word Bearers! Horus: Oh shi--Spess Puppies a'comin? Abbadon: And the Ultramarines, sir. Horus: Who? Anyway, this looks bad. *enter Sanguinis* What are you doing here? Come to join me? Sanguinius: *throws self on Horus's power claws* Alas, I am undone! When you play Castlevania, remember me! *enter Emprah* Emprah: Horus! So my favorite son killed my favorite daughter! Horus: What about the Lion? Emprah: Never liked her. Horus: No one does. Now prepare to die! *mortally wounds Emprah*Emprah: Au contraire, you dick. *kills Horus* Dorn: Okay, now I just plug this into this and . . . okay, it works! Emprah? Hellooooo? Jonson: I did nothing! Guilliman: I did more nothing that you! Jonson: Nuh-uh. I was the most worthless! Guilliman: Have you read my book? Dorn: No one likes that book. Khan: C'mon guys. It's not that bad. Dorn: I guess not. Russ: You all suck. Ima go bring the Emprah back to life.

That's what she said!

Haha, seriously though, front mount makes much more sense. Though I think rear mount looks better...

O H I am in the Webway...

For the Godhammer (aka. Standard) Landraider Imho it doesn't matter where they are, but for the Crusader and the Redeemer I would put the weapons on the front to gain the much needed extra range.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster and if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you
