Yeah, I have realized that the more stuff I want to do in this hobby the more I need to learn how to sulpt in GS and Putties of various types (ie. Super Sculpy, which I already have....).

So I bought them....

Ok so i finished the first two engine pods for the 6 mars pattern warhounds. I wanted to do more tonight but the honey-do list was large and we did spend all day at the hobby stores two hours from here.

I need now only make 10 more of these tomorrow.....

OK, so I got a very good start this evening on the rest of the engine pods. lets take a look at how I did it:

They consist of these basic pieces:



From them I start by building this:



The vent panelhad to be edge with some PC strip to fit in because I cut them too narrow but I like the overall look it adds:




The front curved piece and the top curved piece are next. Most of the top curved piece isn't seen when this is finished, it is just there for strength and to add the top cover for the vent panel. I take two squares of PC and fit them to the curves and glue them in place:




A whole bunch of rubber bands gets used here:



And that part is done now:



Now onto the outer curve and intake covers:



Each one of the pods gets one each of the above pieces. They have different arcs across the top but that is for a reason:



When the one piece is bent in at an angle the arc across the top of the two is the same. I need only add the top most skin:



A little sanding and gap filling still to be done but this is what it ends up being:




Tomorrow I will be posting a picture of six of these. And starting the weapons mounts for all of them!

I have been asked to build a Necron BFG fleet. Any idea the size of any of those models?

The production line is awesome! I love looking at how other people go about things, and youve got the curved plasticard techniques to a tee.

Its like an invasion nice tut on how you do the curved edge, I have to ask what manufacturer do you get your ridged PC from ? and if you have a size that would be great

Your 'average' battleship is about equal to a Dark Eldar Reaver Jetbike in size, with lots being smaller and few being bigger.
I think some particularly over-sized peces can match the Razorwing in size, but as far as I know that's only 1-2 models in the BFG range...

I'll try and find some dimensions later...

LDD, the ridge PC is Evergreen Clapboard siding in .080". I use other sizes for smaller venting needs.....

I'd like to see you do a Warlord.

There are several ships in the Necron BFG range, all of which inspired the look of the Necron "Scythe" fighters and the "Barge" vehicles.

Here is a shot of a fleet that has all five ship types. One Capital, a Cruiser, a Light Cruiser, and two styles of Escorts. They are all mounted on standard GW flying bases, for scale-purposes.



Primary features are 'circuitry' on the wings, and various sizes of pyramids.

One of the best hobby purchases I ever made. True story, bro. Now I just need to start picking up all of the recommendations that you and Dave give out
