Dave's right I wish I had a photo of my first mini's that I painted.

They're not so great. But I learnt alot doing them so my next batch will be better.

I have a razorback that I intend to sit down and do a detailed job on. I mean to do the kind of exacting detail dave does. I know it won't be near as good but it will be a learning experience for me. I hope to learn as I go as much as possible. I will need to put together a paint scheme and then ask what pos I actually need to buy. Thats where you guys come in.....

OK, so the "kit" for the remora counts as is done.

The first four ppieces on the left will be double cast for each kit. the rest are all single casts. It is an eleven piece kit in all:

as a leading figure in the league... i think i have to wave the banner of riveting deeds in front of you... kinda heretic deed to make a beautiful model without the need of any rivets... but the mere effort of creating such a good version hampers me to look stern for real in your direction^^ good work max...

Rivets just wouldn't work well with the Tau.

@ Max- Here's a perspective to consider- you have the respect of people YOU respect. There's a reason for that. Your work is incredible. And I don't mean "good". It's staggering. I think you and I suffer from the same malady- Notgoodenuffhitius. Give yourself some due credit. I mean come on man, you scratchbuild TITANS by taking flat sheets of plastic and cutting them out by hand to create enormous war machines of crushing stomping burning death! The standard you are comparing yourself to is a computer-generated design made into a mold used in a machine w/ absolute precision that injects melted plastic to create the exact same pieces over and over. All of your scratchbuild work is amazing. You are extremely talented, have a passion for what you do, and the respect of other people that have extensive experience in modeling.

You may not have achieved your expectations, but you have everyone elses.

I know, it really isn't fishing for compliments or putting myself down to be getting sympathy or comments like yours above. It is because I see the models come out of the box and KNOW that I can do that. I have just simply failled to do so thus far and it irks the living feth out of me.....


AND before 3D printers took CAD/CAM wireframe models and printed the masters out in perfection for molding/casting in plastic someone had to sit down and carve/sculpt/craft the damn things.


I know I can do as good as the machines. I know it. I just haven't been able to yet and I am frustrated by that.....


Good or not, my models serve to frustrate me about half as much as they do to place me in awe of the fact that I actually made them. I am more impressed than any of my followers could ever be at my work because I know my frame of mind very well and it is scattered and unfocused, to the point that it is a major change in my personality to be able to get as much accomplished as I have.

For that reason, I truly appreciate how you guys react and all your input and comments.

That is the part that keeps me going. The Black_Adder was my first inspiration, Then Dave and Vik. Gotta live up to those guys at least.....

I think that the Tau remora will cast up very well and may well be the next big development in the skills I am trying to learn.

I hope to do some terrain pieces in castings soon too. But I gotta finish the warhounds over the course of the next three or four weeks.....

whoa... that sure sended shivers done my spine...! actually i see your stuff and i see so many things i am not capable of... all that planning and looking at things and understanding about shapes and the way to achive them... you don´t know how often i have hit my head with a mallet (figurativly speaking ) for again not getting even the simplest structures right... really that is something that´s totally unnerving me... so i generally cheat in doing things totally weird on the basis that no one instantly sees my errors...as i can´t measure worth a damn... and cutting is my worst enemy... also i suck in basic geometry... WHY i am in this hobby sometimes escapes me... kinda a weird addiction... the urge to belong... and fun... seeing others feel and do things i like, i like to do, i would like to be able...
