Started working on the carapace details:
Hand drew this. I really ain't much of an artist, it took a while to get it right.
Then I had to trim out the half of it leaving a single piece of trimmed material. I failed that, but it was only two pieces. I used those two trimming pieces to make a mirror symetrical line for the other half of the image.
Once the whole thing is cut out I will begin making extra copies of certain pices of the image so as to creat layers. The sword was first:
But since I am very exhausted this evening that was as far as I got. I will leave it at this for scale and proportions:

Thanks, everyone. I appreciate the support.
I started working today on a side project that I hope to finish today. Well, at least finish it to the point where I can start making molds and casting it.
I recieved in trade a few weeks ago several very valuable MtG cards, A trio of dual lands to be exact. In return My friend asked to build him a few Tau Remora and XV-9 'counts as' models. Here is the beginning of the Remora:
A simple sketch done on a disc drawn at the right size for placement and design layout:
Addition of an infrastructure:
Build of the front vented fixture and the bottom of the frame with vents:
This one shows where the front fixture fits onto, but since I am casting these as a kit for my buddy It is only set in place right now:
Same homemade stand I used for the Storm Talon MK I, hehe:
A semi-sphere with a flat bottom added with appendages to fit the engines onto. Again not glued into place yet:
Rather poor immitation of a burst cannon (for now) and the mechanics to fit the wing, which will fold like the real one:
The engines, I have only built one and will have to cast it to make sure they are symmetrical. I suck at symmetrical so I cast certain things. It is just a few pieces of nested tubing with a few cutouts on it:
I know that looks a little crooked in the pic but I can't figure out why... It really isn't)
And everything I have for now with a little Tau lines engraved:
Still have wings to make but I think it is turning out ok.
